By the way, just discovered this new Nexter Leclerc called T40. Any infos?

Forget it. Il will certainly not be in used in the French army. It's just a concept and that doesn't respond to any request from the French MOD.

A .50cal coax and a 7.62 cupola MG ? That's a fair trade-off! :-o

I confess my usual excitement for this kind of novelty, like a 'the bigger (gun) the better' fondness. It reminds me of when the BMP-3 was added to MEC and Russian arsenals, and of course when the M2 Bradley was first introduced eons ago. And that nifty upcoming BMP-2M too!
Still wistful of a 40mm IFV, no Swedish CV9040 in sight, maybe a Warrior CTA in a few years, who knows ? (as though these new assets aren't drastically changing anything I know)... I'm getting seriously off-topic here.

Question: Will its handling and performance be similar to any other MBT in-game ? There're lots of myths, truths and half-truths about the Leclerc' specificities, like ultra-fast stop-start ability and a speedy reverse gear. I guess the MA's are already well-documented on that matter. ;)

Anyway, la France est fiere de vous, guys! Great work!

The Leclerc is equipped with an SACM V8X-1500 Hyperbar diesel engine providing 1,500hp at 2,500rpm. An electronic engine management system is supplied by Safran. The SESM ESM 500 automatic transmission has a hydrostatic transmission unit and five forward and two reverse gears. The engine is fitted with a Suralmo-Hyperbar high pressure gas turbine. The engine provides a road speed over 70km/h and cross-country speed up to 50km/h.

The tank also has a Turbomeca TM-307B gas turbine auxiliary power unit. The hydropneumatic suspension system is from Societe d'Applications des Machines Motrices (SAMM)

Only if or when they get orders to use deadly force. They can't shoot for awhile at the start of a round since it take so long to call the UN HQ, and even then they might say no.

The UN one was a nice surprise

The big question is if the UN mandate allows France to use it how it will be in PR. The UN dislikes anyone wearing it's colours while being active in combat. ROE would most likely say that the IDF would have to fire first, in which case IDF units could just run pass French troop and all they could do would be to say stop. They could maybe do something if the IDF started targeting noncombatants. Of course this is only for that FF v.s. IDF map.

I don't think the ROE will reflect real world ROE, if that was the case IDF would just lol at the French and roll past in their Merkavas.

The game already doesn't reflect real life ROE, if it did Fallujah would have no kill penalties and Lashkar would have nothing but kill penalties for the Germans.

The tank looks nice though.

Well the big problem is that to have units wearing UN colours means that it isn't a purely French mission. If the troops only had normal FF colours you could make the leap that the ROE lets them shoot back. For "UN" troops to be anywhere they have to have permission of both sides. So if the IDF plans to attack whoever the UN can't really stop them, unless the Security Council says otherwise. They wouldn't lift a finger as long as the USA still backs Israel (veto power). Honestly this map will make less sense that the IDF v.s. Russia one.

Tell this to the UN troops in Ivory Coast, I'm not sure they have been fired at before answering ;)

That a bit differnt. They were over see the election which then turned bloody. They guarded (and only that until the last day or so) the leader who they believed won and noting else. What shooting they did do was after the UN HQ said it was ok.
