Recently i have seen people getting warned or even kicked for having a high ping. Why is this done?
If it is too make server less laggy, i can only say that it is a myth. High ping players do not make the whole server more laggy. If that would be the case, NA servers would be unplayable when EU players start joining. I also have never seen a server suddenly get more lag when a high ping player is around or run smooth once that player is removed.
Server choice is already limited enough, dont make it even harder for those from non EU regions.

Mats, I dont about what kind of high ping kicks you are talking, but the only ones I have seen yet were with players having a ping very close to 1000 (as in yesterday there way a player joining with 910 ping).

The rubberbanding and hitdetection is so fucked up for the player and people playing with/against him/her that I think 1000ms ping is a reason to kick because It can have a significantly impact on more than his/her gameplay but also others (in a negativ way).

I understand the point though. If people want/have to play with ~300 pings its their choice.

It was not just yesterday. In past weeks every time the server becomes a bit laggy someone brought it up and some admins seemed to act on high ping players. I understand that someone with 1k ping can cause issues - especially if he hops into pilot seat - but i dont think he will be running around as an immortal god immune to hit detection. If someone from Brazil finds the way on your server, be happy and welcome him

Made a statement in our internal Forums bout that.

Had some great rounds lately. Thanks to those who help seeding every day. Also big shout-out to =MeRk= for balancing when we ask them.
Also, huge thanks to those who rejoin the server after a server crash. It is great to have some loyal individuals or groups rejoining. Mostly admins can't do much to prevent a crash, so it is even more important to have a strong community behind the server who is rejoining no matter what! Thanks guys!
