Even when some round kinda suck, I think At least i have those great sounds. Only minor issue i had with MEC mg3, when I had empty mag, the clicking sound wasnt quite noticable in the heat of a firefight. However this seems to be fixed for the next update, as the clicking sound(s) seem much more noticable.

PS: MG3 has awful iron sight, couldnt anybody export it with a Zeiss Z-point? Thanks :D
I wonder what's causing those clicking noises!!! The soundfiles doesnt have them... But thx anyways... :)

Are we talking about the same thing? When you have empty mag and try to fire, the trigger makes a clicking noise as it moves. This is intentional, or not?

Hmm, no, never noticed that.. What do you mean with "as it moves" The trigger is meant to play a clicking sounds. But dont know if were talking about the same things here. What weapon are you refering to?

[EDIT]

Ok, I've discovered now that the clicking noises are to be heared after a stereoshot (1st person sounds) sound is finnished. Thes one "click" at the end if you fire one bullet. Severeal clicks if you fire more. All when the sound has gone silent.

I got this to go away by setting sound settings to Creative X-Fi and Ultra. This is very weird, because this is the setting where people often discover bluescreens right? Or CTD's?
How can this setting take away the clicking noises from the stereosounds?
I went from Hardware and High quality (w eax on) to the best there is.

Yeah then its meant to be like that.. First there's a "bolt-sound" after the last bullet, then the trigger sounds starts to play. Was the same in default PR.

Yeah, i know. I just wanted to point out that with the MEC mg3, the sound seemed little too silent. However, from the 0.5 preview, it seems the clicking sounds with empty mag seem just right

Im sorry to confuse you :)

I might as well put it out here just so you can have a think about it -

The volume on the reload and deploy sounds are.. too loud and come right at you. Especially when compared to the volume levels of the original sounds. It's like the sound is being played RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR EAR, where as it should be toned down a bit to put a bit of contrast to the fire sounds.

Also the amount of addition noise, cloth moving, metal tapping AFTER a new mag gets pulled out wrecks the tempo and rhythm of the animation. If every sound sample in the mix were loud and punchy, then the overall sound would lose its impact and its believability within the world. I suggest you try looking again at the original sounds for that volume pattern.

Lastly there are places where the samples you used don't make complete sense for the animation and kind of material being operated. Gently tap a switch KLIIIICK, work a hinge CHINKCHINKCHINKCHINK.. a culprit of this is the Minimi, I don't like the sound for when the ammo bag is removed and attached to the weapon. Too much clutter in the sound just for a simple 'clip-in' and 'clip-out' motion. Also places wrong emphasis on the material, as it should be sounding plastic-y rather than metallic, and the top cover opening and closing motion is also too 'busy'. Should be a cleaner sound for just a hinge-like motion. Though I admit a large majority of your samples are good and much better than what we've had to work with.

That's the bare bones of my input, once we reinstate you in the team you'll get more detailed feedback on a sound-to-sound basis.

I understand what you mean that the sounds are too loud. Just felt the original sounds or reloads and handling was to unpersonal and actually had too low volumes. They sounded really strange with repetetive "clothing sounds" Even if you move your gun to sides with the animation there was no sounds with it. I tried to do my best to sync it all to really get a feel that you're doing something with the gun. Did the same with binoculars.
Same with footsteps wich I've changed some now. Wanna to get you feel that your'e running around with equipment and clothing on your body. I've listened to many documentaries where they have the same equipment and sure there're alot of noises going around when someone is walking or running. Dont wanna change the footsteps now.

But I can overlook the reloads. Also think they're abit too loud, but still want the clothing and equipment in them still, like grabbing a mag. I imagined what was going on outside of the screen. And the guys must do something to get a new mag or grab/put in a drum or ammobag.

To me, when playing with the AR15 rifles in default I always thought that your arms were realoading a gun 5 meters away. So I wanted to really get you feel that you're reloading and put detail in it. But I still know that all the mechanisms wouldn't make that amount of sound. So I can overlook that.

Thx for the feedback!

I understand, and something like the clothing rustle and footsteps I can agree with. We can work out the deploys and reloads together I suppose, cause the samples you have are really good stuff. Just need to get the right sound to the right action.

what exactly have you done with teh british vehicle sounds? I think I prefered them before tbh, and they were unique in that they were direct recordings...

I like the GPMG though, but I wouldn't mind it having a bit more umph, since its a 7.62 etc? kinda sounds like the SA80 tbh

GB vehicles.
  • Landrover enginesounds etc.
  • GB truck engine
  • Challenger cannon sounds
  • Panther loaded engine sounded. Sounded horrible before. To muffled and high pitched. It was quiet like a mouse when it passed by. The idling sounds were good though.
Yeah, I can take a look at the GPMG.

Hello guys,

Just wanted to share with you the last update of the soundmod 0.5 is released now! Go and get it.

From now on I'll try to work with the PR team to get the best out of this game. This is the best way to do it. I will then find new features to work with and add even more sounds to the world of PR. There are lots of things you can do more with this game that I couldnt do with the soundmod, therefore it will be easier if I get connected to the teammembers so we together can work with some great ideas.

The download link and instructions are in the 1st post. Hope youll enjoy it!

Here's some of the changes in 0.5:

All the sounds are superb imo and yea a notable improvement is with light vehicles (technicals, rovers, engine sounds ect ect).

Realistic or not i can attest to feeling more immersed with this sound mod going.
