Great sounds, when i hear all this battle, it sounds really beautiful and realistic

Regarding the 0.5 update.

BH style of sound is the correct way to do it, blades are slapping the air, apply to other choppers and ofcourse, less blades and wider blades, heavier and slower the wound, more and thinner blades, less slapping and more smooth.

Gun sounds, really good, has the boom and the metal sound, like it should be. Except the loud boom at the end of 50.cal firing cycle, its weird. And MP7 is a bit deep, dont know if it should be like that? :D

THe US voices a re funny. :D

This is going to be so epic in 1.0 if it gets implemented officially!

Distant explosions a bit too loud maybe?

Really enjoying the update Anders, certainly makes the PR experience alot cooler and its clear you took all teh feedback on very seriously.

Thx Rudd, glad you liked it. Yeah I took every little feedback to my heart. But I also have my own will and experience so there's always a limit of what I would want to do or change.

I hope can be of service soon for BF2 :P R. Very interested in making a nice atmosphere for Normandy aswell. WW2 is always WW2. ;) cheers

I personally think the M14 is too quiet. I've has this 30-06 recording on my comp for a while now. (very similar to the 762x51, 30-06 is 762x63)

Anders I've got a little task for you if your up for it :)

Basically the Harrier in PR:F and eventually in full PR too is currently using the vBF2 jet engine sounds, which doesn't really work very well for the Harrier:



Is there any chance you might be able to make the Harrier a new, custom sound that was more fitting since the Harrier in r/l, dose have quite a unique sound due to the way its setup differently from other jet engines, with its Exhausts shooting out the side of the jets etc?

Not the best refs ever but hopefully you can get the idea from these vids :)




If you could also somehow include the harrier power up/down sounds that would be awesome, in a way that when you have in both full forward or full reverse (hover), it sounds powerful but when your not pressing either "W" or "S" its down to that low tick over sound like you get before takeoff, or just after the harrier touches down :D

Thank you so much for this soundmod, Anders ! The new heavy weapons sounds are freaking fantastic.

A little story to that:
I played Burning Sand and spawned as MEC in the city. When I hear IFVs firing miles away I think to my self "never mind they are far away, nothing special." The same situation with soundmod is totally different. The IVF cannons sound so badass and threatening I thought to my self: "F***, do I really want to go there ?" The new sounds improve the atmophere alot. I was impressed how the sounds changed my mind about going in the direction of the IFVs, even when the objective was in this direction.

Friday I played with soundmod 0.5 and I have to say, every version is better then previous one, impressive work!

its a pretty common PB problem try updating punkbuster

on evenbalance.com

also search through support forums there were a couple of threads like these

I currently dont have time to respond with the full fix

did you download the 1.5 patch recently from a german gaming website? I once did and this patch was corrupted and I got the same error. Try redownloading the patch from another mirror/site whatever and apply it again. This fixed the problem for me.

As far as I know you get the error, when the server uses soundmod and you don't, and vise versa. Make sure you disable SM when the server doesn't use it and use it just for the few servers that actually run the SM.

No, you don't have to have the SM on to play on SM servers. Everyone can play on them. But if you plan with SM on a non-sm server you'll probably get kicked.
