At first I couldn't really be bothered with Mumble but after reading more and servers promoting it, I thought let's give it a try.

Now I'm trying to set mumble up and running so I can start using it, tried to copy previously posted settings. But I seem to be missing an option called "Rolloff", I do have expert config enabled. I installed the PR Beta Mumble.

Also, most options (sliders) seem to be locked. Any help would be appreciated, any form of voice chat program makes my head spin for some reason.

Project Reality really need to find some decent server providers, the ones that they are apparently affiliating with look like they are run from someones basement :(

Roll off doesn't exist anymore, minimum volume replaced it since it worked better this way, roll off didn't mute people who were 1000m away :D

When you install mumble now the only settings you need to touch are shortcuts, volume, quality settings, maybe network if you have problems. Often you can just install and you will have no problems, just get on and play! :)

Quite honesty people who realy havent a clue about the whats and whys would be better off to keep coments like this to themselves. Instead of bitching and complaining maybe take the oportunity, just once, to say thank you! for someone else spending there hard earned money so you can have a server to play on for free! (be it a Mumble or PR server)

Proud sponsor of the PR Mumble server!

I have offered Project Reality servers co-located with one of the best server providers in Europe before and been told they were not interested. Therefore i, more than anyone else, have the right to insult the beyond poor server providers they are using at the moment.

you would be correct, and the reason for the server being down had absolutely nothing to do with a server company or a poor server company for that matter.

Ah, cheers for the heads up! Makes it look a lot less stressful getting it working then which is great.

I'll put mumble on tonight so I have the whole evening to test it out. :D

We do certainly appreciate the servers TCC has been providing the PR community in a variety of roles. But could it have killed you guys/som1 to post up why the server was down? afaik the reason still hasn't been posted up.

I heard it had to do with some E-Drama between PR and the people providing the server on which Mumble was running. Someone got butt-hurt over the new server deal the PR devs made I think.

Guys....

1) Lets not be Crude
2) If you don't have a quote or privilaged position regarding the mumble server don't assume anything or post complete hear-say.

TCC will post in time I'm sure, I was just annoyed that a simple

"sorry guys, server is down for X reason, It'll be back/the internetz have been destroyed"

was not posted

Yeah I know, it's just frustrating to say the least if it really did happen the way I heard... just seems greedy.

But we don't know it happened that way.

For all we know the .5 mumble update server side went wrong and they were trying to fix it.

Or Scot has personal problems that had to take priority, so no1 knows what was happening <- which would explain the lack of announcement. So NO HEARSAY and NO CONSPIRACY THEORIES

I'm hoping that too, here's hoping it actually is that.
