Yeah this is hella sad. this was the community faction I was looking forward to most too.

Ah, gawd. This is really disappointing. IMO, the JGSDF would be a more interesting faction that, say, the Canadians, Norwegians or Dutch. Maps set in the Pacific or on Japanese soil are more insteresting scenarios than Afghanistan. The JGSDF really would have been an unique and interesting faction. Btw, wasn't this project tsrted earlier than the Brazilian Faction? How come they get a subforum even though they are "BLUFOR"? Same goes for the Czechs and Kiwis...

In any case; congratulations for all of your nice work! I hope I'll see the day when this project is brought up again and finished!

They could be "OpFor"? Wouldn't that mean that they wouldn't be able to fight the Chinese?

I'm absent from the forums for over 1,5 months and when I get back I find out that the second faction I expected the most is now a dead project!?

Too bad no more BLUFOR factions will be taken in. But given the number of factions already in the works, I'm not surprised. 'Though I can tell 3 or 4 BLUFOR factions PR could do without. Not gonna mention which ones to avoid a heated debate which will anyway result in the same status quo. =/

Oh well... it was good while it lasted.


PS: If Japan were to be OPFOR, perhaps replicating the political and military situation presented in Tom Clancy's "Debt of Honor" could be a break-trough.

There's too much work put into this project, I'm sure the need for new BLUFOR forces will come..

Also, that Nimitz might be usefull for PR

Those do look quite nice, although as rudd said they need some dirt. The question is whether you would be able to use them.

You can feel free to work on whatever you would like. However, the members of the community factions have chosen to put their resources to use finishing certain nations, generally the ones they live in. If you don't like it, buy 3ds Max and Photoshop and get to work.

Plus, F-2s and F-15Js aren't carrier-compatible.

And I don't really get the point of including factions (even in community-oriented selection) like the Czechs and New Zealand, given that their military contributions to, say, Afghanistan (a mere 370 and 220 soldiers, respectfully) are drastically modest compared to the US and British forces, whereas a full-scale war between the PRC and the US would HAVE to involve Japan in some way or form, given the US has an entire carrier taskforce just sitting in Tokyo Bay half the time.

BUT...

I'm probably simply over-analyzing in regards to the first bit, and I got here rather late and don't know anything about Photoshop or Modding or anything like that, so I suppose I should think a bit before saying anything.

Then again, everyone else pretty much got their chance to *****, so I demand my oppurtunity to, as well!

Tank crew? Medic?

Minebea PM9 is arranged by JGSDF 1st Airborne Brigade, JGSDF 12th Brigade, and JGSDF WAiR.

tank crew uses "M3 Submachine Gun" fundamentally.

Type 89 Optical sight is not rationed.
member dispatched to iraq is an individual, and was purchasing and using Optical sight.
diffusion rate of Optical sight is very low....

We did not adopt M203.
Since there were many unexploded shells and gunner was fixed, M203 was disliked.
Type 06 rifle grenade is arranged by all the members.
It has power higher than M203, and can destroy an armored car.

JGSDF stopped the use of the antipersonnel mine by Ottawa Treaty
JGSDF is introducing and using "Fordonsmina 13".

"SAMkit"
surface-to-air missile uses "Type91Hand Arrow".
It memorizes and guides the visible light image of a target by visible light CCD.
Disturbance equipments, such as the flare, are not effective at all....
Bad weather, the night use are impossible only with visible light CCD. It combines an infrared instruction with a CCD instruction and guides it to the target.

"Type90MBT"
Type90 MBT is mainly used in "Hokkaido".
It was a very heavy vehicle of 50t, and it was almost impossible to use any place other than Hokkaido.
It is the tank made in order to mainly perform tank battle. It had placed for the purpose of confrontation with Russia.

Type74 will be used when using a tank except Hokkaido.
Or a new tank. Type10 (TK-X)

"Type89FV"
The number of the production of them was only 69.
It carries Type79 Heavy AT.

I'm sorry to pop your bubble but this faction is currently on hold if not totally cancelled.

Main reason being that the Mod currently has a large amount of BlueFor factions in-game and in production stage Opfor factions on the other hand are still in the need of some love.

Also... before this project got halted, the issue of the M203 had already been adressed and instead the plan was to add some of those propelled grenades that are fired with the main gun mechanism of the Howa Type 89.


It's sad because this faction had quite a lot more stuff done than other factions that will get into PR one way or another.

But maybe in the near future when there's a bigger need for more variety in the factions present. Although maybe at this point PR will no longer be working on the basis of BF2 and instead move on with another game. But this is just a baseless assumption.

If you make an Airborne map like "Yamalia", it will be possible to give Minebea PM-9 to Officer.
Or Minebea PM-9 can be given to the unit who performs island defense like JGSDF WAiR.
They just have a role such as the Marine Corps

Type74 carries out usage mainly like a Tank destroyer.
A tank battle is possible. However, most is used for ambush.
tank battle is not main.

Type74 is mainly used in all areas other than Hokkaido.
It is a tank for precious foot soldier support of the area which cannot use Type90.
It has the important role of foot soldier support on a city map like GAZA.
and It is used also for a guerrilla's destruction.

Japan supplies Type10(TK-X) in this year.
It is lighter than Type90 and is applied to the battle in city from Type74.
