Re: Free Candy Van
had some good rounds here, not a lot of trolls to deal with since admins are swift with reports.. and even so, forum reports are replied to quickly. thank you for the server

<Bluedrake quotes a few now deleted posts calling him a glitcher for killing enemies with an FOB being deployed over them>
-Insult/challenge towards completely unrelated party-
Just kidding, <insult deleted> I hate you so much. <3
Its not a glitch. FOBs are meant to kill people when placed. Its to keep people from being able to be inside a FOB when its placed down. The only thing, is that using that gameplay element offensively is damned near impossible for most situations.
Glitching is doing something like what I saw the round beforehand, where people were using the FOB to spawn themselves inside of a wall. You're not supposed to be inside of walls. I have video evidence of that too, and I forced all of them out of the wall. That one is pretty clean cut.
Now granted, with that said... yes killing people with FOBs is borderline. I know a bunch of you are going to freak out and be like "HOW THE ---- IS THIS BORDERLINE" but seriously... crates. Are dropping crates to crush people "glitching?" Cause in real life if you put down a heavy *** crate on someone and crushed them, I'm pretty sure it'd kill them. Also road killing, "glitching?" Servers are always split on that one, since yeah... roadkilling makes sense... but the lack of slowing your vehicle down when you hit someone all the sudden makes it cheating?
There are a billion things like that in Project Reality that are borderline, IMO placing fobs on people to kill them is one of them. If you offloaded a bunch of construction supplies on top of your enemies to kill them... it'd work in real life. Not very reliable that's for sure, but it'd work.
The point of PR is to be played competitively, where you need to use every aspect of the game to your advantage without worrying about "breaking" the game. In that moment, I knew I had an idea that I could use against the enemy in that specific situation, and at the time I didn't consider it glitching. I still don't.
Skip to this part if you just want to read the resolution.
So. Free Candy Van's philosophy in situations like this is to focus on making the lines clearer. We don't want people running around constantly being afraid that they might possibly be "breaking" a rule when in reality they think they're just being clever and playing the game well. We want people to be creative and competitive.
From now on we're going to modify the rules with specific examples of what is considered glitching/hacking/cheating. If its not on the list, then it is allowed. Period.
For instance, killing people with crates. That won't be on the list. So its allowed. Killing people with FOBs... we actually haven't decided on that one yet, so we're all going to talk about it. Leaning towards no, but we'll have to see. Glitching inside walls, obviously disallowed. Etc. Etc.
Hopefully that solution is amenable to everyone. I'm not here to cheat or play the game unfairly, I'm just here to play the game. -Insult/challenge towards completely unrelated party-

I'm so sorry and its just a game and you all take things too seriously.Anyway,
1.2 ? Any form of tampering with software or unfair advantage is strictly forbidden:
(A) Glitches ? Exploiting inherit bugs with Project Reality
Seems to apply pretty damn hard in that situation. Wouldn't mind seeing a proper response for that, this really sends a wrong message about the server.
Psyrus;2073329']To further weigh in, not as a dev but as a player, you know damn well you were glitching (by anyone's definition), however whether your server chooses to take a hard line on that particular glitch is yet to be seen. I myself have used the collision mesh glitch a multitude of times, although generally to destroy other assets, I killed an APC with one once though, it wasn't a moment to be proud of but naturally I found it humorous at the time.
I personally (as a player) wouldn't take much notice of your use of the fob-crush aside from the fact that you were using it to kill players who were underground, and therefore otherwise untouchable. If it had been some guy lying in the field and you crushed him, I would consider it like a knife kill and say "nice one lol", however what you did is indeed erring on the darker side of glitching, and as such I'd just say pull your head in a bit, no need for some long winded apology, much worse goes on every day in the world, but sitting there trying to defend the practice is a bit silly imho.
Okay I'm going to say this one last time. I didn't consider what I was doing at the time to be glitching.
Now you all can say whatever the hell you want. I'm not a dev. I didn't program the game. I haven't dug deep into every possible code string to understand every minute detail of the mod.
I didn't consider what I was doing glitching. Period. Its not like I was sitting there and like "oh fuck yeah I'm gonna glitch, but fuck it I'm bluedrake, and then later I'm going to upload evidence of myself doing this just to rub it in everyone's faces that I can glitch and get away with it mwahahaha"
Like seriously. The fact that you all jump THIS HARD on this shit. I have seen so many people kill people with a FOB, and I was totally okay with it. Never considered it glitching. If anything you all should be happy that I upload this shit to my channel, and that I'm open to people watching it and telling me their opinion. You would never know I'd have done this otherwise. I'm not hiding from this, and I'm not telling you I'm going to keep doing it.
I didn't consider it glitching. I don't care if you all do, we get that. I will take actions to make sure it doesn't continue. Done.
Could you imagine if everyone on the dev team uploaded every minute of them playing Project Reality? Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
Edit summery. Since other posts were deleted.
Surface just go ahead and ban me for a week. We're going to nip this in the bud. You can talk all the shit you want about FCV, but I don't want people running around saying I'm abusing my privilege as a server owner.
Re: Free Candy Van
Had a good couple of rounds here, thank you for hosting the server and having a good admin team run the reports quickly. I would like to see !scramble be put into use more often, or at least in working condition.. I've heard that the command doesn't work, which I'm assuming the reason behind that is to test server stability. I think it's a vital tool nowadays to try to balance the two teams.. would like to see that implemented if possible.

Undeleted some 'official statements' by Bluedrake at his request.
Also, warning issued to Bluedrake for insulting people, including Devs. You're this close to a ban for attitude problems.
That topic is not server feedback though. We're not censoring your ability to explain yourself and your server's rules, so have those posts back. But we do not encourage a debate over it.
We'll delete further discussion on that subject, fair warning.

I wasn't insulting K4on, me and him are chill. I just added that in afterwards to bug him to undelete my posts. It wasn't meant to be an affront. Trust me I would tell you if it was. The issue regarding !scramble is admin unfamiliarity considering that misusing that command may cause a big fuckup.
Rest assured, we're working continuously hard to train our admins to the best possible. Remember that FCV is still a relatively new server since our inception in January.

Alright, so currently playing on FCV on Saareema (10:52 Pacific Time, US). 2L2Q, specifically RiotControlPanda and Sneaky1Snacks, trolling and insulting players, kicking players for spamming allchat while spamming it themselves with insults, etc. This doesn't always happen, could have just been a bad round, but I felt that this was unacceptable for anyone calling themselves admins to do.
I agree allchat was getting out of control, but the fact that people were kicked for it while admins continued their rant kind of frustrated me.
I'd just like to bring this up to SurfaceRunner and BlueD to maybe take a look into certain members of 2L2Q (not all of them) as admins, I understand you guys need an admin base for all times of day, but typically when I see these guys on I get more insults and complaints than actual admin work.
I don't want to take this any further than a general complaint/heads up, and I know that I may take a little bit of heat on this from some players, but I'd just like to let you know about this and what I've experienced the last few times I've played.
If either of you would like screens or logs feel free to PM me and I'll get them from my clanmate. We try our best to play a good game on your server and 99% of the time it's a blast, so thank you!

It sucks that ******** like that play project reality I thought that's what cods for.curahee150 wrote:Good evening,
Just about an hour ago I was playing on your sever, on AL Barash, on the British side doing apc. At some point in the game a gentleman named Brady731 decided to kill a squadmates apc with the 50 cal. on a land rover. About 5 minutes later we( my driver and I) met Mr. Brady and asked him why he killed our squad mates apc. He replied something along the lines of, "yeah because I meant it", and said he had killed our squad mates apc. He then proceeded to taunt us. The victims of the TK reported him but nothing was done. This may be the admins did not notice due to other problems with other players concerning behavior or they were involved in game and did not notice, or they intentionally did nothing. I suspect the former, as they were issuing many warnings related to rule breaking and TKs. The admins at the time that were on were as follows, (no clan tags) theKrazyCanuck, forest and 13oBBy. I would greatly appreciate it if you could investigate to improve the server.
Other than that my experience has been relatively smooth but there are occasionally a few idiots that insult people out of blue.
One last thing, I would appreciate it if, mec inf squads MUST have 6 people or over ( maybe even a full eight) to take an APC, I saw a undermanned mec inf squad take and apc and get killed rather quickly.
There is no "overkill". There is only a disproportionate appliance of force.

Unfortunately, with the 2L2Q people, it is a constant struggle between their bad and their good.
Thanks for bringing this issue into light!

Can you guys PLEASE play more variety of maps?? Maybe a tad more infantry friendlyish maps?
One more question,
Are you guys trying to prevent teamstacking? (Like, TONS of clans/admins on one team)
Thanks

Copied from the administration Free Candy Van forums.
Removal of 2L2Q from Free Candy Van
Removal of 2L2Q from Free Candy Van
Following a major incident all members of 2L2Q are being removed from the Free Candy Van administration team. Members of 2L2Q who wish to be individually reviewed to continue administrating the Free Candy Van server should reapply on our forums under the administration application section.
This decision was influenced by a variety of factors, including multiple reports against 2L2Q for administration abuse, general unprofessional demeanor, proliferation of terrorist propaganda (primarily offensive ISIS/ISIL media) as well as collaborating in a plot to withdraw from the Free Candy Van administration team to create an identically named server/community to undermine current Free Candy Van administration.
After meeting with multiple 2L2Q members (including the clan leader) we have accrued enough condemning information to make this decision with good conscience. Additionally, any 2L2Q members who reapply for administration on our server will be asked to remove the 2L2Q tags while on administration duty.
While we have decided to not ban 2L2Q members from playing on Free Candy Van, we will be closely watching any attempts at retaliation against or harassment of our players. Any 2L2Q members witnessed harassing members of any Free Candy Van personnel or affiliated communities (=DRK=, PRTA, =]H[=, ETC) will be permanently banned from playing on our server, regardless of whether the act was committed on Free Candy Van or not.
We take our community environment very seriously, and we hope that those of you who have submitted reports and helped us accrue enough incriminating information over the past few weeks to make an informed disciplinary action feel satisfied with our decision and commitment to our community feedback. In light of these events, we will likely be running a recruitment campaign to replace the few administration slots on our team... so if you would like to be considered for an administration position on Free Candy Van please consider applying on our website.
Thank you so much for your continued support, and I hope that this action will continue to preserve the casual and friendly environment we strive for on Free Candy Van. For any other grievances or reports, please continue to use the report section of our forums... or feel free to privately message any senior Free Candy Van staff.
Thanks again, and I hope to see you on the server again soon!

Wasn't this meant humorous, as a joke, or did they REALLY try to recruit players to go to Iraq and fight with ISIL?! Dafuq?!

They were beginning to send videos and pictures of executions and religious genocide that people in the community found offensive. It would be like the equivalent of sending pictures of Jews being gassed in Germany and constantly posting swastikas on all our threads. It doesn't matter if they found it humorous or not, it reached a point where it was unacceptable to the community. It would have been found unacceptable on these forums as well.Daniel wrote:" proliferation of terrorist propaganda (primarily offensive ISIS/ISIL media)"
