Sometimes, one of their admin kick/ban too much without warning.
They tried to kick my friend when he is trying to spot enemy jet from vehicles. Spotting enemy jets from vehicles it so teamworkfull playing, you know. But they tried to kick him because of "spamming".

Normally, they are doing well.

__Super_6__5__ wrote:We are looking at some rule modifications and have implemented them on our server to test. The rule change is for the assets mainly and was changed in order to free up some squad slots for infantry and special group squads. These new rules scroll on the admin line at top thruout the game. We may (if i get approval from our senior admins) to change the !rules to show the new rules temporarily to help in the testing and transition.

The new rules/changes are as follows and your feedback, ideas is welcomed:

"CAS Jet and CAS Huey squads can be claimed by one squad with a minimum of 6 players but must be named ALL CAS.

Transport squad can be locked with 2 or more members. Squad must be named TRANSPORT or TRANS

"Tracked Light armor/APC squads can be combined with a minimum of 6 squad members b4 being locked and must be named TRACKED APC.

"Tank squads require a minimum of 4 members b4 being locked. The squad must be named TANK"

"Wheeled APC squads require a minimum of 4 squad members b4 they are locked and must be named either BTR/BMP/BDRM/BDR/LAV"

"Trucks, jeeps, HUMVEE's, logi trucks and trans trucks are not squad claimable assets"

"FREE KIT squad members will be kicked 1st when making room in the server"

the Free kit squads are in our opinion counter productive to teamwork. Having a squad such as this creates and promotes individualism on the field and is counter to what we are attempting to achieve. Now, some are not opposed to say trans, tanks, apcs squads etc allowing members from other squads to come in and get additional kits for their infantry squads etc. If this is the case, ask the SL's if they will let you get a kit. DO NOT go into another squad and steal a kit, just ask please.

thanks!
BMP Wheeled? what about the IFV and light tanks(FV107 Scimitar e FV101 Scorpion)? they are in the same category as Tracked Light armor/APC?

If I may make a suggestion would be this: If it can carry people, its an APC, if not it goes under armour/tank.

As an FYI, I sent you a PM to you (Super_6_5) on your forums about the guest admin stuff, but I have not received anything back from you. (Nor do I know where on earth to find the PM system on your forums)

I agree that "APC" is not good as a name of squad.
Please imagine this↓ (Muttrah MEC side)

**Player A made the "APC" squad"

**Player B "30mm MTLB(Beast) is not APC, it's IFV. So my squad ""IFV"" will take this."
**Player A "No no, it can lift players. So it's APC!"
**Player C "Wait, are you trying to take all BTR, MT-LB, BEAST and Scorpion in your squad?"
**Player A "Yes, of course!"
**Player D "Scorpion is TANK"
**Player E "No it's not. It's a RCV."

↓As a result
Squad 1 APC
Squad 2 IFV
Squad 3 Beast
Squad 4 TANK
Squad 5 Scorpion

********************************************************
I always make squad like this in mutturah.

"BTR/MT-LB"

I thinks it's easy to understand.
Is it good or not good in =HOG= server?

I understand what the admins are getting at but this new tracked/wheeled APC(IFV) rule set is often leaving too few squads for Infantry to snag up. What ends up happening more often then not is these CAS Chopper/Jet, as well as Wheeled/Tracked APC squads get filled up with players who have no other choice then to join the squad and play solo essentially. If everyone decides to lock the asset squads there have been a few times I've see up to 14/15 guys stuck without a squad.

There have been numerous conflicts about these rules since they've been implemented, it seems more trouble then its worth.

We are attempting to consolidate, there is no perfect solution as there will always be a map that conflicts. Muttrah has a lot of armor and one squad is simply not enough. MEC will tie up only 2 squads for all the armor leaving 7 squads for infantry, that 56 player slots just for infantry.

One of the biggest problems as to why its failing is people are not checking and following the rules on the most part.

We are not trying to be THAT technical on the vehicle types IFV on mec etc. because it will be too many squads too plus like in muttrah their would be 7 armor for 8 people. We also need to make it as simple as possible.

We don't want to keep changing on a whim or another good idea right off, this one doesn't work you say, keep the suggestions on what can be changed coming and we will look into it.
These new rules are not set in stone and must change to the adaptation of the game and people so we will take all suggestions seriously.

Keep in mind this is a test that we are running, they will change as is needed at some point.

keep em coming and thanks for all your input.

@Psyrus, I will take another look, when you log into our website, follow the right side of the webpage down to see the pms, they are on the Home webpage. I will get back to you shortly.

Think this could be added to tank rule?

"If there is only one tank on the map, then the squad can be locked at two members."

On their own the APC rules are fine, but combined with Trans CAS Tanks Sniper/Recon squads it has lead to some squabbles during the briefing time before the round goes live. I'm glad to hear the administration is open minded enough to hear the issues and I'm sure you guys will find a solution if there is one to be found.

Keep up the good work, it's a pleasure playing on your server!

Wow, alright, so I just got banned from HOG, where I have played regularly for months with no issues, no getting kicked/banned, etc. I make a joke about people should move to DRK server after it crashes in 10 minutes (as HOG and CIA had both crashed 3 times each in the same 2-hour stretch, half of those happening within 10-20 minutes of the "pop migration"), and I get immediately banned?

Your admin team needs to get under control. I haven't been the target of any of the issues until today, but a very large portion of the active playerbase has a negative opinion of the team due to excessive and knee-jerk reactions and enforcement.

This thread is not for ban appeals. That being said, if it was me online, the same thing would have happened.

Nice "joke", funny stuff.

About these "knee-jerk" reactions: if you act like a ******, you're going to suffer the consequences. This goes for everyone. These people who have a negative opinion of our admin team seem to be the same people getting the other end of the stick on a weekly basis. A whole lot of other players will never come into contact with our admins. It's up to you to figure out the difference. We have always had a zero-tolerance for any trolling, asshattery and general disruptiveness. This makes us unpopular with the immature crowd but, I guarantee you, very popular with the people who want to play this game without being disturbed by ******** every 5 minutes.

I've been playing on the hog server a lot of times, personally, i don't have a problem with any of the admins, i usually don't argue with them(unless its marepop) The only reason anyone is having problems with the HOG(or any other server admins) is because they are doing something that is either against the rules/rude or just stupid to begin with.

On a side note, like this new asset rule of yours, keep it up! :D

lol, haven't played 1.0 on HOG but in 0.981 the HOG admins rarely took rightful action and usually didn't even bother reading the reports.

You don't get a reserved slot by kissing their asses you know...

Wasn't trying to get a reserved slot, it's the truth... Just because you can't behave like you should on a pr server doesn't mean that i can't :)

Nope, we have not. The playerbase of PR hasn't changed either, so the same people still get kicked and banned for violating the same rules, yet they act surprised every time. One wonders.

Running a no-nonsense, no asshattery server is a lot of work, our growing banlist will attest to that. Please keep the feedback coming, good and bad. But refrain from posting "feedback" if you haven't played on our server in the past month, it serves no purpose.

Thanks to the players for the great rounds in the past few days, I don't have much time to play anymore but I enjoyed all of them.
