so yeah, I'll update this tonight with a new serverachives.con back-up file for .98 or hopefully somebody will do it for you before I get back home tonightMANUAL UNINSTALL
1. go to your PR installation folder(default: C/program files/EA GAMES/Battlefield 2/mods/pr)
2. delete the following files there:
ASM_controlpanel.exe
serverarchives.ORIG-BAK
serverarchives.con
common_client_am.zip
common_server_am.zip
3. go into the pr/objects folder and delete the remaining files:
effects_client_am.zip
effects_server_am.zip
soldiers_client_am.zip
vehicles_client_am.zip
vehicles_server_patch1_am.zip
weapons_client_am.zip
weapons_server_patch2_am.zip
4. Download the original serverachives.con file and place it into your root pr installation folder (mods/pr)
you can download it here:(link removed for now, will update with 0.98 serverarchives.con tonight as the old link was still 0.97)
5. DONE! play PR vanilla again or try reinstalling the soundmod correctly by download the installer (Install manual) and follow the EXACT instructions listed on the auto-extractor.

Just a quick thing that I noticed.
In my opinion distant small arms fire lacks a bit of low end "poppyness".

Re: [Audio] PR 0.973 Anders Soundmod 0.5
to my knowledge only the first version of the soundmod used some copyrighted sounds. All versions after that were made made from reference materials and sound archives bought by anders himself.
but I'm sure anders can answer that question better.

Whatever the case, development of the soundmod has been ceased long ago, as Anders has joined the team and is working his butt off to make PR v1.0 as awesome as he can. And we can assure you, no copyright material is used anywhere.

Take One guess mate.
I could do much more as dev aswell. I was very limited when making the mod.
Plus I cant work on 2 projects. 1.0 has so different things than 0.98. You cant imagine.

Re: [Audio] PR 0.973 Anders Soundmod 0.5
In real life, every bullet (if not subsonic) creates a sonic crack. But in PR, I have the impression that not every (supersonic) bullet flies with supersonic speed, furthermore you can only hear them when the bullets pass by a few meters from you, what is not very logical. In PR the cracks sound like little sylvester crackers exploding directly in front of you, they're not very intimidating.
Besides the fact that it's more authentic, more sonic cracks would make suppressive fire more effective and intimidating, and it would be nice if you're not only hearing them when they wizz by a few centimeters away from your head.
Or isn't that possible because of BF engine limitations?
Just my 2 cents.

Re: [Audio] PR 0.973 Anders Soundmod 0.5
You're correct mate. Havent found a way to have different type of distances for different types of crack sounds.
If I would get a nice system to work, I would have cracks made different to where the bullets passes the player and how far. But its not possible.
But Ive made changements to the 0.98 cracks so it will be more supersonic cracks like in vanilla, than in my soundmod.

Hey Anders, is it legal to use voices from BFBC2 like you did?

Those have been removed long ago as far as I know. And besides, the soundmod is no longer supported anyway.
