Huge advantage? You have 2 rockets because you need 2 of them to kill a single tank. The tank won't even start smoking after the first hit.

I'm pretty sure that tandem warhead used by the Russians gets a tank burning after 1 well placed shot.

That's also a reflection of the technology used. You actually can carry 2 RPG rounds fairly easily, where as something like the SRAW is one use only. You have to remember, in most cases, the ammo loadouts are accurate to the field manuals for the countries they represent.

hello what are sarcasm.

The idea is that G3 has less ammo, but is far more powerful, so it is balanced, some dont recognize this, and think it's an imbalanced, when that isn't so. No one disputes the SRAW's dominance over the RPG7 tandem, so it's a comparison, saying that ammo count isnt only what dictates how good a weapon is.

Anyways, i'd like to add that ammo count differences between rifles is so fucking ineffectual is hurts, it's barely worth talking about.

The G3 gets 6 mags because the old NATO regulations were that soldiers issued 7.62 weapons like the FAL/G3/M14 were issued 6 mags. The current standard issue number of mags is 8 for 5.56 weapons. The end result is balance, but that's not the actual reason for the ammo loadouts.

Suppressive fire is what generally burns through my ammo.

Assaulting a fortified position, I might use 2-3 magazines just getting to the position before reloading a full magazine for the final clearing of the position.

With a rifleman on hand, its generally all good ammo wise, until you have to use that ammo bag to reload someones LAT or someone elses special weapon. Then all of a sudden, that extra ammo seems like no where near enough.

Without a vehicle to drop supply/ammo crates, a squad who actually survives a decent amount of times can quickly find themselves dangerously low on ammo.

This is one thing I like about ARMA 2 vs PR - in ARMA 2, I can drop a few magazines for a friendly if he's low.
