In zonealarm program setting to choose "allow" for all the "access" and "server" columns for PRMumble.exe PR.exe and BF2.exe PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe

make sure your router is allowing UDP and TCP over port 64739

quite an interesting problem you are dealing with, let's see what we can do to fix this.

What is your default input device? Please be as specific as possible.
What is your audio hardware, onboard audio or discrete audio card? Please tell us as much info as you can.
Did regular mumble (1.2.3.X) work in your prior installation correctly at the time you uninstalled it?
Are you running any other VOIp type software, i.e. ventrilo, Teamspeak3, Skype , etc at the same time?
Are you running any audio/video recording program in the background at the same time?

As per usual and mentioned in this thread,
For Win7 x64:
Run PRMumble 1.0.0.4 Beta as Admin (no compatibility mode needed)
Run PRMumble before PR
Run PR.exe as Admin (no compatibility mode needed)


My first thoughts are:
1. You have another program that is holding exclusive use of your audio input device,
2. You are running a USB audio input,
3. You are running a Logitech G series keyboard
4. Somehow PRMumble is not running as admin and can not hook input the audio input dll and service as an admin to take control of the device,

We'll help you out , please copy my reply and start your own thread to respond, I believe you have a somewhat unique problem that should get it's own thread.

W7 64 Home Edition

Problem: I installed PRMumble and it ran flawlessly for weeks. I thought I would try out an overlay so I downloaded the Rivers Overlay from this thread and set it up. Now when I am in game I can only hear others speaking intermittently, both in the squad speak and local speak for mumble. Everyone can hear me but I can only hear others intermittently. It also appears that PRmumble tends to connect and disconnect me frequently.

I launch PRMumble first in admin mode. It is here that I sometimes have trouble connecting or if I do connect it seems to disconnect and reconnect periodically.

I also run PR in admin mode and I launch it after PRMumble.

I uninstalled and reinstalled PRmumble, but not with the chainsaw to toothpick method described above in this thread by LITOralis using CCleaner etc.

LITOralis, sorry for the PM I sent you. I am desperate because I am to meet up with mates tonight. I also posted this same problem yesterday in Hardware Support in the forums. That post could be deleted by an admin.

I searched all over, couldn't find a solution.

Is PRMumble 1.0 overlay working in Windows8?!?!

e: I run both PRMumble and PR in Windows 7 compability mode and as admin. Tried several combinations and XP compability mode. No success :/

If run my PRMumble with Administrator, my PR is crash in the midle game.
If I'm Run mumble with adm and activate overlay, my PR no start.

I didn't make a clean W8 install, upgraded from W7 instead. Other overlays work fine (FRAPS, MSI AfterBurner).

My problem is the overlay mumble.

If I start to mumble as administrator PR becomes unstable.
If I start mumble as administrator on overlay, PR Crash!

Got it?


Will there be an updated version for windows 8?

If i start mumble without admin then shortcut keys work good, but program doesn't work into game
If i start with admin then shortcut keys field is empty and i could only thoose local speach, but then mumble work into game.

Any ideas ?

The "while other users talk" tick box wont tick and nor does the "while you talk" box, as far as im aware this nums all the in game sounds when somebody is talking in mumble? if so plz tell me how can i tick this box?

Do anybody know how to make alternative shortcut for squad radio? I have my regular shortcut on mouse, but I'm flying without it, and I need it somewhere on numpad, which I can't reach as infantry.

Moszeusz6Pl , what you want is not possible at the moment. All shortcuts that say PR Comms can only have one shortcut key, only local can have multiple shortcuts created.

And for anyone reading this later,
Make sure you create any extra LOCAL shortcut key entries at the BOTTOM of the list of shortcuts.

I haven't installed my copy of Win8 yet, it is OEM version and I'm waiting for a new build for office PC before attempting to install it, so I can not test anything out.

Going to be relying on the community to do the legwork to figure this out.

As mentioned in the other thread Tit4Tat, those options are unavailable in PRMumble 1.0 by design.
