Now following everything that I can related to the PR2 cryengine stuff.
Out of interest what is the map making process like in comparison to using the BF2 editor? Because you seem to have made a lot of progress in a relative little time frame (comparing to some PR:BF2 maps development time)

My whole thoughts on PR2 has changed after looking through this thread. Why has everything been so f*cking uber hush hush?

In the past week, I've seen tons of stuff worth giving updates on it's progress. Yet after a year when that 'official' statement was made, I thought PR2 was a dead in the water idea and I'm sure I'm not alone.

It's still pretty unclear as to whether or not this is an official Project Reality project or a purely community driven endeavor. I'm thinking the latter.

I'd say it's official because a) PR management would deny it if it weren't, and b) there are official PR devs commenting on its progress openly.
As for the lack of updates, I'd say that nothing was posted because they didn't feel they were ready to show off their work yet.

To not create any overly high expectations when there's relatively little to show for it? Better to understate and meet/surpass expectations than to overhype and fall short/dissapoint.

I'm not an authority on PR2, but this seems self explanatory. I can understand that a lack of information can become frustrating, but if there's a lack of information it'll be for a good reason (as above).

You can, but other than some simple statics and props i find max easier to do it in. More functionality

SketchUp is really really basic. If you want to do better stuff, might as well go with Blender to stay with free programs or 3DS Max if you have 1000$ to spend lol
