Just an idea, not to make it too ArmA like but why not just have a team/squad marker with color over the top? Do you really need someone's name hovering over them or just to know where your friendlies are?

I actually like this idea, or make it so only medics and SQL are shown with the number of the squad so the others can orientate. :lol:

Why cant the nametag code be breaken over 64+ server?

Cant the IDs for the guys over 64 players get put in ID 1,5 1,6 and etc?? :(

This is still so retarded since the teamkills is SKYHIGH nowadays

You forget that PR is still a BF2 mod.
Breaking the 100p limit is something we always called "hardcoded", it's not something we could change easily.
Same applies to the nametags. There is no easy way to fix it and there will never be.
We might come up with a solution in the future but nobody knows when or if that's ever going to happen at all.

100 players servers are the best, the name tag issue is very insignificant and you must adapt..

this is the way forward !!!

In what way? When half of my team are invisible on the map, or without names? It doesn't make sense. I have changed my mind completely now, it confuses me, my squadmates and allies, please enable the name tags for the next patch, sir!

I heard that Devs will put a name tags but only for new people who are discovering a beauty of PR...like in a driving school...

You know what i miss-binoculars-but is it normal for all infantry to have binoculars?
Now you must move with your squad and yes there is greater possibility that you will be killed by your own teammate but if we using mumble like it should be-team killing will be very low.

Honestly, I have noticed not that many TK's with people.
It's funny as hell when you don't know if it's a friendly or not! XD

Saarameena is the best example.... specially in dark locations! :D


But honestly, I would say 80 players max.
100p is pushing the Engine to the Max. It's like trying to tow a trailer with a Smart Car.... haha nice joke.

random thought: We still have the mumble which has all the names and player positions so it is possible to overlay at least squad members nametags based on that information, though that might be taken as cheat by PB and requires some advanced skills to make, but at least you dont need to spend months with a debugger

64 player enough...this 100er shit is terrible...only teamkilling without nametags...teamplay is no more on the servers ...many lonewolfs while its better to play with 8 man in one squad...to much bla bla in mumble you hear nothing from the game...0.98 was better teamplay at all...heli flares are shit and going always down...
im pissed off 1.0....nice grafik, updater but the rest brp... i think many kiddies play now pr coming from call of duty ...
think i buy bf4 .... maybe better teamplay like here now...really sad

64 player is enough, perhaps then go and play on a 64 player server or less..

its on not fair nor democratic of you to try to tell people what to do..

whilst the 100 player server was being built, the testing of this has been ongoing for many months if not years, and I can tell you for a fact that these tests were very popular and people almost Im quite confident to say that 90% loved these high player servers..

as for team killing, this is your own fault for trying to shoot any thing that moves rather than playing intelligently and identify your target and confirm this.. this is reality , this is project reality, not cod...

No worries sir, I know you where joking from the start, but when I come to think of it, the removal of the name tags does not matter that much, if you have a good SL that keeps contact with his mates, still I would indeed prefer them name tags, but then again if the engine is holding them back, maybe 64-players and name tags is the way to go?
