This isn't server complaint.
We are Generally Discussing why we are sick of server map voting.
How does admining get harder when there is no vote?
It's easy. You don't have to worry about another thing in the server. (There is more then enough things in servers occuring that admins have to be high on their tippy toes about)

Don't pull the popularity card, simply don't and you should know why.

I am not sick of Server map voting. You should be sick of admins putting in any map the players ask for (-> "Muuuuuuuuuutrahh")
In the past days I played and have seen servers that played and voted for:
- Tad Sae Offensive
- Yamalia (2x)
- Pavlovsk Bay
- Hill 488 VN
- Xiangshan
.... and more. (Jabal, Fools Road Night, Mestia, Asad, ...)
Really don't see the problem with votes as long as you put the right maps in. I can't stand votes like "Khami, Bijar, Kashan" or "Muttrah, Beirut, Marlin".

Guys, I appreciate your postings here, but wouldn't it make more sense to post this in the Server Feedback forums or forward it directly to the affected clans? If you have problems with admins running the same map votes over and over again or believe that they just set the maps they like without caring about their playerbase, isn't it the best to give them feedback directly?
As people have stated, not all servers are running only the same maps and layers all the time, and they are still daily filled.

More people support the map vote servers than don't.
They won't junk their rules to satisfy a couple of people vs most of the people in the world that go to their server.
Again...
Their house, their rules, go somewhere else.
COD has to be the best game in the world, Jersey Shore has to be the best TV series in history, the Bible is a book next to no other, Karkand was the only map BF2 needed, CS is the only competitive shooter the world needed....
Popularity =/= quality. Humans are creatures of habit. I cannot repeat myself often enough, people choose the same not because it's best for them but because they know nothing else.
Or do you want me to remind you of a certain community that used to run the most "popular" server and their fate?

Well agreed then

Humbug! Map voting is aggravating to say the least. I've been playing PR since 2006(7?) and watching it grow the whole time. I can validly say that map voting is not letting the players experience all of the wonderful content in game (ESPECIALLY with 1.0). Admins from my favorite servers are constantly throwing about the same combos into the vote for a generic PR round. Really? Is that what has become of this community?

What does that have to do with anything? This is a server mapvote, not communist oppression. We're talking about players who simply want to play the same ten maps over and over again. Yes, the majority wins and gets their way, but that's because they simply don't know any better. This is about experiencing the maximum amount of content made by the devs and getting the most out of Project Reality.
Perhaps I can offer a solution, if it means anything. Have servers host sessions that are on a random map rotation at certain times. In the evenings, the server can switch to mapvoting as the crowds come in. That way, during the day there are some of the rarer maps being played while in the evening, people let their voices be heard.
Cheers!

lol it seems like every server does that anyways.
Really, only a lot of American PR players can only play at evening. So, really. It would be pointless.
I know a lot of older PR players do not enjoy map votes.

I conclude this thread.
Matters of how servers are run, including map voting systems and preferences for particular maps, should be discussed in private messages to server administrators, the server feedback forums, or the websites for those respective servers. In my experience, you get what you want more often when you talk to a person than you do when you talk to the mob.
