@Truism - Your sig confuses me.
SSGTSEAL <headshot M4> Osama

Counter-Terrorists Win!
There are no SSgt or SSG SEALs. Do you mean Petty Officer PO2 or PO1?

@Everyone else - I know this is stupid. I can't help what intrigues me.

And Brainlag, I agree w/ your post.
I have noticed a lot of newbies doing the SAME exact thing.

But before they get NEAR the bradley or asset I do not want them to use I kick em.

Reminds me of what happened a few days or so ago on Khami...
I now ask players how long they have been playing for...
Some guy said: "I have been playing for about 3 years." (You know, there are a lot like that)

I was running a CAS squad, and asked: "What is your experience in CAS?"

He said: "I flew every jet in PR, even the new faction." (It's kind of hard NOT to believe those players that say that stuff)

Then he gets in F18, asks: "How do I take off???"

I then kicked him.

So I understand while people don't respect Newbies.
But I feel bad for those newbies who actually WANT to learn. And not act like they want to, then F' the game up.

But, I have seen players biotch and be jerks to newbies who are the ones who want to learn and have fun.

I have to add one thing...
Am I the ONLY one who thinks the PR Pop has gone up a little bit since 1.2???

Same as every release, especially with a new faction, we get a peak for a few months, then the pop goes back to a "normal" once some people understood it's not their cup of tea.

Maybe we got a little more people, but it would be weird that it stays like this, it's usually the period we lose quite a lot of players due to exams and/or vacations.

That's an excellent point that I didn't consider at all when I wrote the sig. I won't amend it though because I don't really mind and the joke works with it there anyway.

Since we are nitpicking, it was a H&K MP5, not an M4. There are rumors it might have been a 416 too.

MP7 I thought. Do the SEALs even use MP5s still?

Basic guidelines for any new player:
  1. Use a mic - communicate and listen.
  2. Join (don't create) an infantry squad.
  3. Pick the standard Rifleman kit.
  4. Tell the squad you're a newbie.
  5. Check the map, stay close to your squad.
  6. DON'T use vehicles.
I would also recommend watching a gameplay video to see how a typical match plays out and to get a feel for the game.

Also, read the manual.

I played a round today, it was a good round. I had 4 newbies in my sq.

They did GREAT. Honestly, those newbies are more determined to win a firefight then the 3 experienced guys on my squad. Like, no joke.

We were all down by a enemy squad, a newbie was left.
Guess what he did?

He killed the full squad of enemies, by common sense.
He waited for the hosties to come to him, and not rush them and get pooped on.

Took him like 4 minutes, but he revived us afterwards, IMO. That was the best moment I had in PR in a while.

The funniest thing was, one of the newbies. AT beginning of round, fought with some guy for a logi. (We were gonna set up a fob and emplacements). Honestly, there are new players that are awesome and determined.

Every server needs a squad for noobs, I guess.

Post edit: preferably with an experienced SL guide.

I definitely won't be changing that. There's no MP7 in CS, so the joke wouldn't work. I'm pretty sure I made it in the few days after the raid when no one really knew what happened except for lol stealthhawks.

So yesterday I was playing, manning an HMG, and firing into a bush where I knew some enemies were as I took fire from that direction, then a guy tells me "hey you in the MG, stop firing if you don't see enemies, you're wasting ammo!" to what I kindly answered "no".

So first, if you're a new player, please avoid telling veterans, or anyone at that, how to play the game, it's very irritating (I assume people knowing how to play wouldn't say something as silly as "you're wasting ammo" when firing on a fixed emplacement). That'll increases the chances of you not facing us "elitist jerks".

FYI, I got the kills I expected in those bushes, and there was 2 crates right next to us, so the ammo shortage was unlikely to happen.

I know it wasn't a big deal, someone telling another what to do, it wasn't mean or anything, but it's just one example of people telling others what to do when it's completely silly, and sometimes it's annoying. Also that guy during this game kept telling people what to do or not, and it was rarely worth it.

I just wanted to point that out as it could avoid some situations where "noobs" get yelled at.

Have a nice day everyone!

These are some of the squads that keep popping up

NOORDERS
FREEKITS
NOMIC

PR is a game that revolves around communication and teamplay. Take that away and you are left with a shooter with dated grafics. Time used to be players went to great lentgh to make communication and teamwork happen, assigning themselves to the right channel in a third (fourth?) party voip program surpressing their ADD long enough for a short planning phase so the team could get oranized or even actively participating in said planning.

Now you have players doing their own thing being unresponsive not caring how they affect everyone elses experience. Players flying cas or manning mortars do not get targets from the team, communication in general is getting poorer, squadleaders oftentimes ignore other squadleaders trying to talk to them. Even worse, if something is not happening for more than 2 min, because the officers are trying to figure something out with each other, the soldiers will instantly get bored driving/shooting widely and god help you if there is a bomb car nearby.

If you behave like this in a team oriented game

of course its going to tick people off whom come with certain expectations. There are plenty of games which do not require the level of Teamwork PR does. I do not play Left 4 dead and expect people to organize themselves in a Swat team.

I havent seen any of those squads yet really and I play quite often these past few months. I saw freekits squad a while ago yeah..

This thread is just for venting anymore and should be locked in my opinion... Every now and then somebody drops their "bad bad" story here and the thread lives on. No point for that in my opinion. Go and create a thread in tales of the front?

I dont see why a "bad" AAR is worth this spotlight thread with this shitty thread title even.

Maybe I am just sick of threads like this and the whining when my experience does not AT ALL correlate with whats posted here.
A few situations go wrong yes, so be it, but dont go and post here again so the "thread" lives on... No point in my opinion.

Seems like someone bothered to read through the thread

FYI, he already replied and solved his case on page two, after that it got hijacked and derailed PRTA style.
