Rhino, I was just reading a thread on bf2s.com and it says that when Muttrah V2 comes out, theres going to be armor on it??? What is this, part of what made Muttrah great was that it was infantry only, it's just not gonna be as fun. I'd rather play the original Muttrah even though it's unbalanced.

Armour is only an idea, if it happens will be like 1 tank on a big spawn delay and probaly will only see it once in the battle, and the harrier should be able to take it out or AT.
I'm just considering everything at this point but we will see how it goes

With maps like Muttrah and Muttrah v2, we really need AAVP-7A1's in Project Reality. They don't carry overpowering 25-30mm cannons (like the current APCs), and are actually used as personnel carriers in real life. Though I do believe they are equipped with a Mk.19 and an M2HB .50 cal.

Sorry I can't find the link, but if you are adding armor it should just be One LAV / BTR for each team. But I think M1's or T90s would be kind of overdoing it for Muttrah.

of course APCs before MBTs. APCs will offer up spawn points for the USMC in this map, might not give any or only 1 to MEC and then give them a tank to take out the USMC APCs. APCs will be a must on this map for USMC if they want to do some damage cos if they loose there spawn poins on the land, all they have to rely on is choppers which we know in the current muttrah, dont work very well, and maybe rallypoints. The choppers will still play a big part like they did in 0.3 with getting the troops in, and scureing the areas before the APC moves in after them. unless the APC driver is a nub and wants to go head on at light ATs

Rhino I think it could work well though, Choppers really only had a problem because the MEC knew where the choppers were likely to land and would rush those areas and spam with H. AT's or L. AT's and the other areas to land would be covered by AA.
Boats couldn't be used because of same reason, MEC could here them coming, and the RIBS didn't have a place to flank and not be seen.
If your new and wonderful Muttrah v2 just had a few safe zones to land and the map was slightly bigger so MEC couldn't cover them all, there wouldn't be such a problem, and if the coast area was a little bigger (or there were a few ships or something to obstruct the MEC line of site) the MEC AT guys couldn't cover all landing spots for the RIBS also. Maybe a ship or something in the bay might be nice so a sniper could be dropped off and could check for threats waiting for the US insertion.
IMO it would be nice to have an armoured division move in from one side of the coast, maybe once the US had captured a flag the armour would spawn or something like that.
Sorry bit off-topic. Looking forward to your new Muttrah though.

@jmull, yep excatly. The map is going to be over 2x the size as the last, means alot more area to choose to insert by chopper from and there is probay going to be less AA (went ott with the AA cos when i put them in, they where doing no damage then the damage got fixed, and chopper dropped out the sky like nothing
RIBs will be able to land all over the main sea wall, notice the steps on the sea wall? Just like the real muttrah, means better gameplay cos its so easy to shoot somone off a ladder cos there is no cover, and you couldnt shoot back. Now with the steps you can slimb up them slowley, use the cover from them and shoot thou the tricky bit will be getting the boat there without getting ATed hehe.
there will only be so many places where the APCs can land, near the docks where they will be lots of ramps to get up, theres already a buch of ramps up at the fish market where APCs can get up, and hardly started on the docks yet
And yes, the Armour devision (more like 1 or 2 tanks

) "could" come in like 30mins into the battle, will have the play test it thou
But i can ecleast somone is thinking the same way as me

Does that mean some of us will have to look at upgrading our PC's???

I hope not
I'm going to try afew exsperimants with this map, which I've already started doing small tests on basrah to increase the performance of that, which it already looks if it has but will need to confirm that in the open beta

@Rhino, Hey if it works out that way it's not necesserily a bad thing
(although it would suck a bit, only because money doesn't grow on trees.....damnit) it's actually pretty normal.
I mean, When new games come out they don't make them for older machines, they make new advances, better graphics etc.
So don't hold the game back too much because you'll lose some players because they don't have the greatest machines. It's normal.
As long as I don't have to spend $3-4000 on a new machine I'll be happy

It's expected that as the game advances, so should your PC.
