Suppressors? Oh dear :-/

What about the rest of the kits? Mostly unchanged I'd assume?

Expendable Grunt wrote:Leggy, what weapons did you get at the squad level? SAW, DM, etc.
Squad breaks down like this:

SL: M4A1 + peq-2a + ACOG or M68
TM LEADER x2: M4A1 + peq-2a + ACOG or M68
SAW gunner x2: M249 SAW + peq-2a and sometimes an M145 site
Grenadier x2: M4A1 with m203 + peq-2a+ ACOG or M68 (there's a new laser rangefinder attachment for the 203. I'm not sure how widely used it is now but 2 years ago we had a few)
rifleman x2: M4A1 + peq-2 + ACOG or M68; also carries AT-4 and or squad med kit.

M240 crew (2 per platoon)

Gunner: M240 +peq-2a +M145 site
assistant Gunner: M4A1+peq-2a+ACOG or M68 +ammo+ tripod+binos
ammo bearer: M4A1 + peq-2 + ACOG or M68 + spare barrel+ an *** load of ammo

Medic (one per platoon)

M9 pistol plus giant *** med kit ( By Geneva, can't fire any weapon bigger than 5.56)

Seems that the m14 has more widespread use than I thought
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:TroopBaghdadM14s.jpg
but that are actually MK-14s and no M-14 (plastic handguards, sometimes shorten ...)
would be really fun if we could get those e.g. for the Army Squadleaders to compense that the grunts are weaker armed for longer distances than the regular soldiers of the other armys are.

that is a M-16 marksman rifle as used by the Army:

Em Leggy, I don't think you meant to stick "A1"' at the end of every M4 you listed. Unless you were actually using M4A1's? ie: Safe-Semi-Auto.

Sorry, I could have sworn they were called M4A1 but my memory's foggy and wikipidia contradicts me so I have to say for the record that they were

safe-semi-3 round burst M4's.

I think the confusion stems from the manufacturer stamping the gun as M4A1 in many cases but then re-tooling the weapon's fire selection, conforming to US Army requests for 3 round burst, before releasing them for distribution

Yes that's a camelback. We all carry them over there, soooooo much better than a canteen. Best money the army's ever spent.

Yeah quite a few of my platoons mates myself included for whatever reasons appear a lot. Another section sgt is in every oakley add because he's looking over his shoulder and you can see the symbol very clearly on the picture.

In my unit there is 1-2 M14's per platoon, and a platoon is anywhere between 16-20 guys.

Several Army units choose to keep using the M16 so I think having some lying around on maps with the U.S. Army would be nice. Or since the Marine special forces kit gets the M4A1 with aimpoint perhaps the Army could get the later version of the M16A3 for their special forces kit.

The US Army's M4s are going to have a shorter range as well correct? Well... thats going to hurt...
