While I have heard plenty of complaints about ammo not being lethal enough in Iraq I have also read that the 5.56x45mm M855 ammo was pretty lethal during operations in Panama and other 1980s conflicts. So right now I don't know what to think. What sort of ammo do you think we should switch to Kenwayy?

Your rule where no grunts have the M16A4 may have been true in your unit but it does not seem to be that way across the whole Army. A friend of mine who served over in Iraq was in a squad where everyone had M16A4s besides for the squad leader who had a M4 and the SAW gunners. He said it was like that across his platoon.

I don't know where you heard a lower velocity makes 5.56x45mm ammo more lethal but I keep hearing the opposite. (Higher velocity gives the round a better chance of fragmenting or tumbling when it hits the target.)

I assume it's also common for it to enter and leave a target, wearing no body armor, so fast that it makes a 5.56mm hole in his chest.
