Well we have mines and C4 so I fail to see would claymores have a 'spam aura' around them.
The main problem I had with the last kit to have them was its limited use, its hard to put some proper defense when you can only trigger one set of claymores.
Which makes having one guy with the kit pretty much useless for his team as his defense capability is pretty much a one time shot
Having it in 2 separate weapon slots would give us the choice of which set to activate.
But anyhow, how does it really work in the army ? is it a dedicated soldiers job ? how many can he put down ? can he trigger them individually or all at the same time ? As well this is project reality

I dont really see a problem with claymores the way they were in 0.5. You couldn't really spam them coz they would all blow up when you detonate them. If they were like vanilla clay's then i agree, it would get annoying as hell. But since they are remotely detonated i dont see a problem

PR could be stick men shouting Boo at each other and it would still be superior to bf2 so long as it never has instantly deployable triggered claymores that cant disarmed

if you look at a ambushers back or a officers kit (insuregnt) they have claymores....it's under the mine of the ambushers back, and you'll easily see it on the officers back.

Claymores can be disarmed in bf2... Just use your wrench on it if you have one

Two things that would make Claymores super awesome
1. Have a way to relocate them, sadly....I don't think the BF2 engine will let you do such an unheard of maneuver.
2. Multiple fire setting for the detonator. As in Mouse 1 detonates all Claymores set, and mouse 2 blows them in Order from first layed to last.
Just an idea.

Well in the Laws of Armed Conflict, you are not supposed to use anti-personell mines. So by removing them it is realistic, though soldiers probably still use them.

If they will be given to engineers they can just use the wrench to remove them.

Would be great if you can for example one claymore on the "5" key and one on "6" key. with a maximum of 3 of each set. Then you could detonate just half your claymores or just detonate one and quickly change to the other set and detonate that one aswell.

f*ck the laws of armed conflict. no one uses them anymore. insurgents could care less, and the u.s. still uses many things that are "banned".
people still shoot at corpsmen, people still use ap mines, and the u.s. "rebadged" napalm as "fire bombs" or something so they are still "legal" to use.

when i was in (years ago.) you carried the mines & detonators seperate, when u decided where you were gonna place one you unfold the leggs, stick in the ground, it has a cap that u unscrew & put in the detenator which has a wire attached & you unwind the wire while backing up away from the clay (it fire outward in one direction)and you have a clicker in your hand, you camo your position , wait, and when u see enemy coming you detonate with the clicker when he/they in range.
so unless they changed in last 20yrs you dont lay them down & leave.

I think giving the claymores to the Spec ops class is a good idea, it would give the kit a little more value and its a good combonation.
On quwi river (screw u spelling!)the spec ops kit is good for being a type of ambusher/forward observer for infantry squads

the claymores would be cool, except they should have a clacker. or for realism make the rope from the grappling hook extend from the back of the claymore to the clacker. It may impossible but a man can dead cant he?

To tell you the truth, I think that claymores should be included into my dream kit the "Spotter" Oh god how nice would that be to have someone back me up when sniping.
