I think the main alternative is cutting down on spawn points and such, this is why I disagree with the SL one personally. I think it's better for gameplay to spawn further away in less time then spawn right next to flag but it takes twice the time, it's alot less spammy too.

We'll have to see what the devs come out with though, seems like they'd prefer an alternative to increasing spawntime which will have a similar effect toward how people treat their precious life.

Well you see, I know you don't want to try to destroy the gameplay, you only want to make this game better. Just like I do. I never said your intention is to ruin the game. But I just don't agree with you. :) It's the same thing when you say that longer spawn times would make the game worse for everyone, yet in my opinion it could solve problems.

And I just can't see what your reward system is going to be like if it isn't linked to score or the time played in some way. And we all know, if it's about the score we will get stat padders. If it gives these rewards to people who have been playing for a long time then new people are at a disadvantage, which surely doesn't make them more interested about this mod. I just can't see it working, but then again I'm sure you have thought about it a lot more than I have. But if you have a working idea for a reward system then by all means make a thread and see what people think.

And does PR really need a larger community? To be honest I was pretty happy back in 0.32 when almost any squad I joined was using voip and working as a team. I think quality > quantity.

7 gates is a good example for normal spawn time and long walk. the brits when using the vehicles have a long drive a head of them. maybe is the edge was raised then no 1 could cross paths without goin right down 2 the north of the map. u wouldnt even have 2 expand the maps size to compinsate. but i only agree if we cant extend spawn time. being dead is not what u want. if u complain and say that being dead 4 60 secs is boring and ud hate it then GOOD. thats the idea. we want u 2 hate being killed.

i think the main idea of increasing spawn times would be to get rid of those who are just plain ignorant of teamplay, and also to try and force people to stick together would be silly, if you dont want to stay with the squad you just run away, i recon the only way to keep someone with the squad is to add an imaginary ring around the squad leader and when you are out of that ring you dont get points or dont get somthing of value.

ofcourse your going to say that you want a kit which is out of that ring, but if you really want it it wont hurt to get it if your dead on teamplay, and that would diffrentiate when you get into planes or helicopters, but any other vehicle should stay with the infantry, because you should act as mechanized now that you need engys to fix the tank.

i would also push on giving the ability to join two squads together, where the team leader can only talk to the 2iC which then passes on the info, i know your going to say get onto TS but not everybody likes TS due to the confusion of not knowing whos talking to who.

Theres just too many places, where you can spawn...if the APC spawn, truck and Squad Leader spawn are removed, then you'll see a lot more sticking together, as people wont be able to just spawn out of a truck or the SL's **** every 30 seconds...

I think, that more than 30 seconds of critically wounded may not be possible...but I'd sure like to have more time to revive everyone, before they disappear..

dont put this in PR, but i just had this flash of a great thought, then thought about it and its pretty terrible, but have a rank up system that zeroes when you die. So you get stronger, more accurat or something to simulate being a Vet with the more points you get. And then when you die, it resets to you being green. Not like super soldiers, but like, something to maybe keep people from wanting to just sacrifice themselves, etc.

It could be simple things like slightly reduced recoil, or slightly longer stamina bar, etc. idk.... i could see it actually MAYBE working, but like... i also see how it could sound totally ludicrous lol.

Would simulate rookie reenforcements to an extent, make living more of a priority, and prolly some other things... but yeah... just a little flash that happened while i was typing the first part of this post...

im against every second added to the spawn time , long respawn time was a great idea in 0.3 and 0.4 , where the only way to die was at 500 m or less . now you can die more , we have tanks with a bigger zoom , planes that can beat your tank in seconds , sinper rifles with double zoom ,AT rounds with a big splash , etc ,etc.

the % of dying now is higher , even when you are more carrefull.
