Why lock it? I know marco is working on a similar idea for German Forces mod. Its a great idea, it just needs some people to work on it. I dont think it would need a massive amount of work either, so maybe if a few people got together we could make it happen.

well the OP apparently hasn't continued the project, the poll has got a good sample, and there hasn't been any real discussion in the thread for ages, it just keeps on revisiting the living because people randomly vote in it...

The community mods are mostly including para enabled kits afaik, so I guess someone is working on it behind the scenes

well drops are never used im modern warfare, the lasttime brits did a combat drop was on the Suez Canal(tho they have asked for one in Iraq when it started and also in Afghanistan a couple of times) so im sorry to break this but modern paratroops are dead exept in name. Its now all about mechanised and air assault infantry

In Battlefield: Special Forces on that SAS map you could spawn in the air couldn't you and parachute down?

I think it would be nice to see instead of Choppers the 'Temporary' Spawns are 'in the air' with no bases. After capturing a base on the ground the appropriate assets spawn and the 'Airborne' ones are disabled.

...Oh wait thats basicly what the German Mod is doing...

Aren't there still large numbers of Russian Paratroopers? I imagine they'd be deployed in the way they're trained to be if Russia ever had to enter in a total war.
