They must be insurgent dogs..... I think they soon after this pic barked "For Allah" and blew themselves up.....
I saw where you said the sky is a little iffy, have any suggestions bro for sky settings? I have been debating this myself....

i dont want to say anything along the lines of al basrah, it just seems like the sky, doesnt really fit with the ground, or maybe the lightmaps were throwing me off.

are you going for more of an errie setting, or more of a "regular day" type of thing..

I am wanting an intense kind of feel for the map/sky. I havent lightmapped yet and will be the last thing I do, so that throwing you off as far as current sky may be the reason.

Looking awesome matey! :D Remember to reduce the width of some of those dashed lines in the same way you showed me how to change a road width ;) They look a bit too chunky atm.

Keep it up! :D

It looks much better with sidewalks. Show some respect and don't use the same sky texture that is in Fallujah ;)

because they aren't both in the same country sharing the same climate now are they? how do you know it isn't a stand in sky texture?

criticism is best when its constructive, as in suggesting a sky texture that could better suit the map instead of accusing someone of being disrespectful.

And pirate this map is going to be epic :D

I set up the sky ;) Just because one map uses it, doesn't mean another one shouldn't, they're default ones included in the editor. You might as well say 7 Gates is disrepectful becuase it uses the same sky texture as Al Basrah in 0.5, and they're both disrepectful for using the Mashtuur City sky texture!!! It may be the same sky texture as a bunch of other maps including Fallujah, but the lighting settings are very different.

You're right there Bondy, the map is gonna be amazing! :-D

Basrah and 7 gates are very different maps. Basrah is middle eastern map whereas 7 gates is a grassy one representing totally different part of the world + Mashtuur city is not even in PR anymore. I'm sure if I used Mashtuur city sky in a middle eastern map people would ***** about it being too similar to Basrah. I have a very deep respect for the upcoming Fallujah map.

My point is that it really doesn't matter what sky texture you use, but whether or not it suits the map i.e. looks good and is realistic. As a budding mapper yourself you should also have respect for all maps that might make it into pr, including this one. Accusing this map of being disrespectful for using the same sky texture as another (unreleased) map is ludicrous. I also know Duckhunt, who is working on the Fallujah map, would agree with me. Like I said, its the same sky texture, but everything else is different, including the cloud layers and every single lighting option on the list. This map is also going to be very different to Fallujah. I know because I've taken a good look around a recent build of Fallujah and had a mess around on it with Duckhunt over hamatchi. You're making an issue out of nothing.

Why are we fighting over sky textures?

I always thought we were meant to use the same sky textures as other maps as long as they suited the map.

Already noted, see previous page. He just needs to reduce their size down.
