I have things like effects, terrain and geometry set to medium, with textures to high and visibility at 100%. Dynamic lighting, shadows and the like are all at low or off even.

I have a 2800+ Barton, 1.5GB RAM and 800Pro here and while I've no problem playing as infantry flying is a big no, once I'm up in the air with people on board it's impossible to land without killing anyone (wish I found that out before I practiced offline for 2 hours).

Only thing is if I take 1x512 stick out and leave it 1GB (a much faster matched pair at that) it's unplayable. I played PR on 9800Pro as well and it was playable too (with everything at low mind with 100%, never compromise on that) but as long as I had that 1.5GB RAM. So looks like when it comes to bottom end, RAM is what makes all the difference.

I play mostly on medium with maybe 2 on high and 2X AA.
As long as i dust out the case on a regular basis i get good fps.

This with a P4 2.8 oc-ed at 3.25 and an ati 1600pro wich i oc-ed also, wich is surprisingly easy...

ok, guys after testing this weekend i have a question:

I read your settings and dont know whats wrong with my maschine...

Her it is.

Intel Dual Core 2,4 @ 3 GHZ
8800 GTS 640 MB
2 GB Ram @ 800 MHZ

And my settings now are: 1280*1024

The most on medium, 2*AA, 100% View Distance.

And im not become more then 50 FPS.

The most time they are round about 30...

And if some 1 throw a smoke or i get supressed...15 FPS. This cant be i think.

Here are some guys with a lower maschine on higher settings...

Someone has a answer what i can try to make it run better?

BF 2 i can run on all high with about 60 FPS...

Think its the same engine...

Hope someone can help me...

I tryed the resolution of 1680*1050 because a guy told me that the "new" Grafik cards are optimiced for higher resolutions... But this dont work for me...

Is your power supply inside your case good enough to run your system? If you built it yourself you might have made the mistake of getting a too low powered one (it had to be asked, I've seen numerous cases of this)

Have you installed SP1?

Do you clear the video cache each time you change drivers?

High + 1280 x 1024 + nHancer 16xQ Antialiasing (override) + supersampling texture filtering + 16x Transparency Antialiasing

Hi,

with Power Supply everything is ok. It have 650 W. So everything is fine.

I try to clean up my video cash.

And i have Running Win XP with SP 2. So this seamed to be fine to.

There is a little Program, witch can clean it up i think.

Search for it now and make a new test.

Your GPU could also be over heating.
Download ATItool and run the 3D test, if your temperature goes above 85 your card is over heating, if this is the case turn up the GPU fan with Rivatuner2.06.

spyware can cause hell with running PR and PB. you can install both Adaware and Spybot at same time, run one after the other. see if that resolves it

This i have tested. I get Displayed life Temp. And its not going over 75. Think this is a ok temp. for a GPU.

Yesterday i tested to clean the Grafics chache. This worked. Get up to 15 FPS more. But only one Round then the fps is falling down again.

Someone can tell me the console comand to clear up the chache? If there is one...

But if i read the maschines of some guys and there grafik settings, this cant be for me...

I set all on medium, 1280*1024 and 2* AA.

And i never get over 70 FPS...

How can this be that guys here with a 3500 single core and a GF 6 card run all on high with more FPS...

I am running all settings maxed from BF2 settings @ 1680x1050. No idea what FPS is but it's running all smooth. I did this even with my older system, except without FSAA.

Currently I have Intel Q6660, 2GB DDR2-800 and GF 8800 GT. Previously I had Athlon A64 3200+, 2048 MB DDR-400 and GF 7900 GTO.
