Karbala, Ramiel, Basrah and Fallujah. Big question is - will they really play that differently?

Yes, I agree, I think the US should have only 1 littlebird and for the insurgents maybe a technical if that isn´t too much. That way it would be much more fun.ReaperMAC wrote:Nice work! Looks great
Average round on Karbala <10 minutes. Seriously... that is way too many assets IMHO.

wrt assets, bare in mind the map will be subject to change based on testing. So please don't all panic and jump to the conclusion that this is exactly how its going to be, if it works then there's a good chance it will, but balancing will be done to try to best ensure the map plays as well as it possibly can. That's when testing attendence can make the difference between a map working and a map not working

And don't just remove the apaches if it is unbalanced, try looking for other solutions first.

Yaah.. The city didnt look that big from the minimap so I'll pull that back. Unless its about the size of Ramiel, in wich case, this WILL lall to deathSpaz wrote:You are saying that after seeing some screens.... I vote fail.

Yeah, looks amazing.
And the heavy hardware sounds like a lot of fun, both to utilize and to fight against.
Question about the palm trees surrounding the city: are they supposed to be artificially planted in an even pattern? Judging from the minimap, the placement looks very uniform and unrealistic, but perhaps that is the intention.

Re: [Map] Karbala
a) it is based on the real Karbala, you put a map together that has that many buildings along with all the other detail and what you will get is some serious lag.nessuno wrote:why not to make like in reality?
b) the map is more an impression of the real Karbala, as are most maps that are based on real places. We simply don't have enough different statics to make them 'exact', and the map includes other interesting areas of Karbala that you couldn't include in a 2km sqd map.
c) just saying 'why haven't you done this' is simply not constructive; why haven't you made a replica of Baghdad yet?

This is why I'm talking about hovering... I think that this map creator put them in Karbala, because this convinced him to do so...

Re: [Map] Karbala
If you are refering to Karbala, which is [R-DEV]~Kill~Pirate's map, I have already answered this:nessuno wrote:The map from you proposed is a reproduction of a real place? As [R-DEV]Dr.Rank said, not enough statics and would lag like hell if your whole map was nothing but statics. All you can do as a mapper is use references and imagination to make a map that is realistic as possible with the limitations we have.
It seems you feel you know more about mapping than me and Dr.Rank, well here is the link to everything you'll need to start mapping nessuno, I look forward to seeing your 100% accurate and realistic map!!
