I still think the marines would lose, I mean how low wouldn't the morale be if you see 10000 enemy's attacking you. Doesn't matter if you got a lot of great weapons, the marines would be scared and if they would not they are all insane.

I think seeing a lot of insurgents would just make them to fight harder.

Did it in PRSP, bots won after a long struggle (that was including respawns though.)

marines would win ever if the insurgents made it inside they would have a hard time getting up ladders without nades to clear rooms.

And muskets are accurate. Not M16 accurate but if you line 40 people up and fire then its like a long wide shotgun blast. Rapid firing an M16 isn't accurate either but you manage to kill people that way when the whole squad fires together. Basically the same principle.
Modern day Marines are essentially what the waffen SS was in the Whermacht(- the War crimes) an elite unit, particularly loyal and dedicated that is to deliver an extra punch along the frontline where heavy fighting is expected, beyond the training of regular army, while during WWII they were true to their name, sticked with the navy and were used wherever you had to get your feet wet.

The Marines would win. The insurgents would get shot and die like they always do in a straight up gun fight against a prepared position.
