^pulling out the safety level doesn't fuse it, but allows the handle to open and thus fuse it. Since it's in a can, the handle cannot open, thus it cannot blow (yet). When the line is tripped, the grenade falls out, opening up the handle and lighting the fuse. It still takes the delay before it blows, because the delay is initiated when the fuse is light.

All the safety pin does is to keep the handle from opening, not initiate the delay. Besides, a second or so delay will still kill an unwary soldier whose just passed it, or harm a soldier aware of the trap running away.

But realisticly it would be a delay of 4 seconds. However, the grenade could have been modified.

Sweet work guys, really good attention to detail.

Someone posted a potential way round it earlier, probably won't know if it works out till .85 is out of course...

i like the fact that you might be able to see the wire. doesn't make the weapon 100% stealthy.

Hi :)
Will we be able to mark the "homemade" claymore on the map ?
You know, like the anti-vehicules mines !
Because on Ramiel, for example, the streets and "walkable ways" are pretty narrow, and I wouldn't like to get teamkilled every 5 minutes ! It's already so hard to survive xD

This is also a question as admin :) I'm sure people will over-use this claymore as in Bf2 vanilla, and wouldn't like to see our server being emptied by over-teamkilling :P

cya ;)

Yeah true ;) And it will avoid US forces to walk so "freely and imposing " trough the insurgent's cities ;)

Looks awesome. This will surely provide some new gameplay concerning insurgents defence of weapon chaches.

However I am still a little worried about the initial mass TKs that will happen with this (I 100% guarantee it will happen at least once a round).

To counter this in some way, will you be adding a map marker ability like you have on the engineers mines? Maybe a claymore icon in red? I know this because not everyone on the team always reads the text crawl. Just something so that the trap placer can say "I gave fair warning, should have checked the map".

Other than that little issue, kudos on the new addition to the INSURGENT arsenal  .

It is soo surprising how many people dont even read the main post before replying... its only the 2nd paragraph too...
'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino']No, it's not a claymore, thou its kinda like a claymore. It is in fact a "Grenade Trap", inspired by our member EOD_Security-2252's "Wire Trap" Project that never really took off, our MAs where very keen to see this in so myself and other team members got onto making it.
