Coming out of a building hearinga Russian try to sneak up on me turn around and blow is face of with my shottie ..... Best kill ever.

I love it, but for a shotgun it sucks. You can shoot a civi from 10 feet away and he will sustain minimal damage, it takes like 5 shots to kill someone. The other day me and 2 other specialists stumbled upon a civi and it took almost all of our shells to kill him.

Used correctly the shotgun is effective against the unarmored insurgents from 30-50 meters away, not to mention standing right next to them. Even I with my generally poor aim can arrest civilians through windows across wide streets with little trouble, so while I don't know what was your situation, I'm rather sure the weaponry was not at fault.

I always use it ...

You must be kidding?

Just recently again I had myself and half my squad killed by some maniac with a shotgun who suddenly popped up behind us and took us out one after another. And we weren't even unarmored, we were militia. Of course, we expected heavy resistance, since we were trying to sneak behind the enemy and then engage him, but that catched us off guard. Shotguns are damn deadly.

the shotgun, is nice for CQB.

I use it plenty. There is a time and place for it -- CQB.

For being CQB it does not even have to be THAT close. It will stop an enemy from a good distance.

yea i dont think ive ever been killed by a slug shot but deffinatly with a buck shot ....there was this one instance on karbala and Ramiel where i went around using my slug shot ... i got a few kills its not the easiest thing in the world but ... i DO! use the shot gun on ocasion when i have nothing else like a fall back weapon .. or just to simply supress enmies because the shots May not now any more but used to cause Supression effects because of the slug shot. but for nothing else shooting the 7 or so shells you have on semi makes the enemy say ... wtf? and then you can make up your own move from there.

LOL I kill entire squads alone with my shotgun, best weapon in the game, especially when you master it.
