They're more stable then IE and Firefox.. and a torrent is designed to handle small bits of information so i rarly corrupts yes. And if it does it's only that 1 bit of it.

Correct, especially when people on your own ISP (and net-near, i.e. 1 ASN away with large peering connections between them) are sharing the file.

Correct. Each block has a hash associated with it - and upon receipt, the block is compared with the hash of that block to ensure it's complete and not corrupted.

BTW people, MAKE SURE you have inbound connections working... (Perhaps this is why GreenLed has issues w/torrents being slow, i.e. he doesn't let people w/the file connect to him to push the data to him).

Does your PR-Downloader use both torrents and FTP servers? That sounds pretty complex...



Ontopic: I'll be getting it via torrents. I'll be seeding loooooong before I even get the chance to play, though. I'm fine with that.

Gotta love Torrents.

Downloading away at 200-300k/sec. =) I appear to be one of the initial finders (1 seed, 5 peers).

I'll be seeding this (along with the other seeders) all weekend. Enjoy all!

No. Just the torrent protocol. Very simple. Just run the "PR-Downloader" and wait as the games files are installed in the right places.

Hehe, Yep. I see xxx.static.theplanet.com is the seed, realitymod.com is peering, someone on aliant (eastern Canada), someone *.se, one at iphouse.net, and a new one just joined at bresnan.net

LOL, I don't have any issues with Torrents my friend. I like them. I'm just pointing out that it's still faster to go with my mirror. over 1.0 megs per second is hard to beat with torrents unless you have a large amount of users online. Just for the record, I usually overload my upload speed when I'm done downloading a file on uTorrent so people get a good helping hand after I have the file .

I'd love it if you could send me a better internet connection here on PEI - maybe a little more oil revenue too huh?
But Aliant seems to be chugging away alright tonight. So I should hopefully be on in 2 hours or so!
