Ok, I've been thinking about it, and this would be my basic plan for the minimod (if, of course, you choose to accept it):
Short term
Looking at the short term, I think a couple of AAS forest/woodland maps would be a good place to start, between a Red Army faction and a US Army faction, possibly with desert map (there's plenty of forest/desert maps in WiC to take inspiration from) to keep things interesting. The way I see it, this would minimise the number of new models, statics, and reskins that need to be done before a late alpha / early beta release can be made. I think in these battles, armoured/mechanised warfare should be focused on, that meaning tanks and APCs, simply because for two regular armies to be going at it on the field, this would be a likely scenario. Also, again, it would cut down on the number of things that would needed to be worked on.
tl;dr : A couple of wilderness maps for US Army vs Red Army tank/mechanised battles.
Mid-term
With the above completed, the mid-term would be a good time to start expanding. Seattle, I imagine, will be a major focus, so work could begin on some Seattle-based maps (suburbs at first to cut down on the custom statics). Additionally, if the majority of US Army maps will contain heavier forces (and possibly airmobile for some variety) a Washington National Guard force would be a good way to use the lighter vehicles, such as light tanks. A slap-dash defending force up against a technologically superior Soviet force would be an interesting dynamic, similar to (I believe) the reserve forces on Muttrah.
tl;dr : Some suburban maps, introducing a National Guard force.
Long term
Long term is where most of the hard yakka will be, I think, but it'll pay off in spades. Some inner-city maps might be possible, and maybe even some winter maps too. The best way to use the city maps, I think, would be to introduce that militia force of veterans, police officers, criminals, rednecks and your average gun-nuts, in a way which wouldn't be too comical, into the Insurgency mode against a Soviet occupational force. Now that would be something different. Also, perhaps as a sort of counterpoint to that faction, the introduction of a conscripted Soviet force, the USASR (I believe that's the name of the occupied zone from propaganda on WiC maps) Army, which would be the Soviet equivalent of the National Guard, perhaps fighting the militia, perhaps fighting the US Army. Whatever would suit the maps.
tl;dr : Inner-city Seattle, American insurgents, winter maps, USASR Army
And of course, all the while new maps would be produced, using more a more vehicles and whatnot. A plan like this wouldn't take two weeks, of course, more like months going into years, but it allows for some somewhat regular releases that would keep up interest in the minimod. That's the plan anyway...
Of course, it might be the case that none of it would work and that I've wasted my time, but that's ok. I'd be interested in helping to organise for the moment, as I don't yet have any other skills, although I'm going to teach myself to texture (of course, that's going to take a long time), or if that's not needed, help out with the artistic vision for where the minimod heads. Or if that's not needed, watch. Whatever's good

Oh, I'm hoping to get a new banner done within a week, so watch out for it.
