look at the servers. in 90% of time playing insurgent turns squadplayers into loners. or it lets having them the break for meal that they decided to have the round before but they been blufor so couldnt take the time yet.

look in the forums,90% of AARs of insurgencymaps are about what an amazing game they had as BLUFOR.
leave 10% for insurgents had a good ambush.

look at the round start, theres a rly high chance being switched to insug side when you connected as blufor
cause there are players just refusing to play iraqi/taliban. idk of its because the low quality weapons or vehicles that explode when you look to harsh on them. or a difficult healing system or just the fact that you will always loose caches sooner or later. or maybe they cant play insurgent cause they are the bad guys.
but thats just speculating

i prefer BLUFOR on any insurgency map because although i dont mind playing as the insurgents, ive had alot more memorable experiences with american/british forces on insurgency

I also like playing Blufor for another reason

When I'm INS I spend the whole game going "omg this US/UK team sucks"

pwning up people with Insurgent weapons is fun, but after effortlessly killing yet another APC....

Last time I was on Ramiel we pwned the US so hard that they decided it was more fun to sit in their mainbase shooting the training targets....

I'm not a fan of the AK series either.

Its easy to see this! Just TAB at the beginning of a round...most players switch teams for the 1337 assets of the allies

I would say i prefer being Blufor, but i will say some of my most memorable rounds have been as an insurgent as they are good fun to play as at the moment, just the right balance so that people don't leave or try to teamswitch.

I'm really not too fussed. If BLUFOR have good squads it's awesome, if not it's still fun to go lone wolf and plant IEDs with insurgents; even better if you get a squad and defend a random building near the cache.

The question is , why are Iraqi and Afghani enemy combatants called "Insurgents" in the first place , aren't they nationalists who resist invading armies ? If you use government / mass media terminology , then you are buying into their lies.

i like both ways, but prefer shenanigans as a insurgent more of the time since everyone else is like "z0mg g0ta be teh l3e7 US forces pew pew!!11"

Fallujah - either
Archer - US because of the long open distances
Basrah - insurgents
Korengal - US-but mostly dc since it always end up in camping or searching with no resistance.
Ramiel (favorite insurgency map) - US- The layout of this city map is awesome.... I manage to find a new alley ive not seen before every round.
Karbala - Insurgents - so many opportunites for blowing up US hardware and make them

Like many others have mentioned there seems to be more Teamwork going on on the Bluefor team than insurgents. Though new players also tend to start as Bluefor and thereby unbalancing the game by wasting important assets crippling the so called Hi tech army.

Many people whine about Insurgents beeing very weak vs the big brother Bluefor. In my opinion it only makes the satisfaction even greater when you end up knifing a few US troops because they forgot to check a corner you where hiding in......or there precious Tank beeing blown up by an IED..... or Stealing the Sniper rifle turning it against them, not to mention shooting down a hovering combat Helicopter with a Technical 50.cal.

On big open maps it does often feel like your the rabbit and Hunting season just started though.

I love beeing a gunner on a humwee though racing down the narrow streets with tracers all over the place..... or parked and taking small arms fire ducking into the turret and returning fire when the guy stops to reload....

I like BLUFOR more simply for the fact that I have the INITIATIVE and control over the outcome of the battle.

Since roughly half the US squads AT LEAST will be pretty incompetent during the average pub match (not saying they're not playing together, but in terms of taking out caches etc.) I feel the need to lead a good US squad.

Playing Insurgent is massively satisfying however when the BLUFOR team has their shit together.

I still do prefer the feeling of being surrounded by crazed, unorganized dudes with AKs, leading a tight knit group of coordinated soldiers armed to the teeth.

I think the fact that the Insurgency team naturally loses cohesion and does not feature as much teamwork as BLUFOR is entirely realistic btw and makes for good gameplay.

It's like Natural Selection (mod for Half Life). Aliens and Marines are both totally different but are both fun in their own way and pretty damn balanced.

I think INS mode will improve a lot with .86 with the new medic changes.

Playing as insurgents is an unique experience. If I want to play as the conventional forces I can choose an AAS map instead.

Also, AKs rule.

BluFor for me... Cant stand just sitting around for ages waiting for the enemy to come to me. i perfer to be out there looking for trouble

Insurgents. I like the job. Also, my grandmother was one. My grand-grandfather as well. And my grand-uncle.

I prefer playing as the insurgents in most cases. Insurgents require so much more teamwork to make up for their disadvantages when facing a conventional faction and in the end turns out to be fun. There is nothing worse than an insurgent team however, who really can't be arsed to play

It's useless to be Insurgency. US MG with scope owns everybody, no any changes to use PKM against it. Or iron sights, perhaps with good luck you kill somebody. I fired 2 mags to eliminate US Scope MG, but it stated firing again. I feel like Insurgent maps are designed to PR to be sandboxes to play as Soldier in Iraq. And Insurgents are meaned to be useless and weak, prevent stop US owning with scopes. Luckilly M4 with scope is useless in 0.86.
Btw, I have played PR actively since 0.6. I know what I say.
And one Off-topic: It's odd that ancient BRDM-2 with AT-5 Konkurs kills T-90 with one shot. AT-5 haves normal HEAT warhead which should be blocked easily with ERA armour. There should be something minimum firing range with missile, like in SRAW or ERYX. IRL minimum range is 75 meters. AT - 5 SPANDREL Anti-Tank Guided Missile

Insurgents all the way. Its hella fun getting on with my buddies and setting up lethal ambushes, my only gripe is I wish they allowed more mine markers to be place as insurgents get more TKs with their mines and grenade traps then against the enemy.

Blufor.

They have acuraccy weapons and with armor cant be killed; you can get inside the city with a Challenger and get Hit with by more than 12 RPG-7 shots and just Laught at enemy work for nothing.Can get hit by 3 ieds and go home safe...See


Insugents arent nice, since they weapons ever time get worse and unrealistic, and IEDs and RPG-7 that in real life are dangerous, on Mod dosent scary a child.
