REboot is needed if you had to install the ".Net framework".

As for speeds. I Just did I test to see if it was really that slow. And it is not. I Would ask that you check your network/firewal/router.

Just checked all possible causes of the low speed connection and didn't find any. Probably it's our beautiful ISP that likes to throttle P2P traffic... Anyways, thanks for respond! I wonder why there is no link for that software in the download section.

It's not a "DEV" Product. It's a User made alternative to installing. One I might add that is very good lol

Hey, can I just remove all PR related files in mods folder and install it from the downloaded files (core, levels). Any registry clean required? Unfortunately, PR Downloader doesn't work for me

Yes you can just deleate the mods/pr folder and install the normal "Core+Levels". There is no need for any registry edits. As it will be the same as what the normal "Core+Levels" install anyway.

And yes the un-installer will work just as well. It removes all traces of PR.

Updated to add extra file for compatibility with all PRSP and Community map addons.

Just re download the program from the link in the 1st post. And re run the app. All will be well.

Hallo. Using the pr down-loader, but my download has been hanging for a day at 54.628%... is this because my windows firewall is stopping it? I turned it off...

Looking at my connection, there seems to be zero data sent/received. How do I access and adjust the ports?

You can not change ports. But you don't need too. I Would say that your firewall has stopped it working. Just restart your PC and re run the PR-Downloader. It will continue from where it left off.

I came home this evening after dloading the whole day and it has gone up to 62%, so I guess it's still breathing . I really hope this dloader works, downloading all these patches cost me more than I paid for the game.

I Am sorry it is slow for you. Not much I can do about it. I Would say that maybe your firewall is block it. But that would stop all traffic. So Maybe you are one of them unlucky ones that have an ISP that throttles Bittottrent traffic.

Thanks, it could be. My download continued into the 63%, but today it just stop with saying "downloading has stopped". After rebooting my machine a few times today it kept doing that. I uninstalled and restarted the whole process... it sucks, I paid R100 for the game, but so far the patching has costing R600 and I'm sure it's worth it after reading all the comments from people, but alas might be impossible. I just need to get the game patched up so I can play online... One day I'll get this right.

I Did do a test today when I got back from New Years fun. And all seems to be running fine. So I am at a lost as to why it did not work for you.

But this is why I have always said that this system is never to replace the normal installers. There is always some user systems that are not going to like it. For the majority of users. This is the best way (my opinion anyway) to install PR. It is less confusing than downloading and installing 2 installers IE: Core then levels. And even the big gaming makers that have a downloader-installer have a off-line version that you can install the said game with. Eve-online is just one example. Guild Wars is another.

Maybe it's time to start thinking about building a DVD disk image (.ISO) for downloading and installing from that. I Am sure almost every user can install the mod from DVD disk. The up shot of going down that road is that everybody would end up with a hard copy of the mod on a disk. Or for them that know about virtual CD/DVD drives. Can just mount and install from that. And as the content for PR is over 3.5gig now. I Think it is something to thinking about.

Yay. Ok, hopefully more noobs see this, especially if you have a tiny chance that your ISP is slow or your country is upgrading it's networking for an event like the soccer world cup.

There are a million threads on this topic, and the pr_downloader seems like the best option; I recommend that be your first and only option, unless you live in Africa.

Do the torrent thing. (It's huge, so be patient)

So at last! My waiting paid off. Now spending some time reading the manual and getting used to the awesome gameplay. It was frightening online, so I installed my singleplayer version and I guess I'll be playing that for a while.
