If we are not thinking about future wars/past wars/current wars as you suggest....then relations doesn't matter....

The only thing is I can't see a situation where Egypt would have a reason to attack or for the US/UK to attack Egypt.

True I was just thinking about what the relation is with China and Egypt as they would be fighting together.

but ignoreing that I'm actualy quite intreeged, if we can all forget about why they might be fighting for the moment, Egypt might be an exilent choice.

That is why they are the MEC team and not something like the Iraqis. EA was trying to avoid politics.

'[R-PUB wrote:maverick']I don't know why Africa would get involved!!
I do, most are against the US and most are Islamic, Bin Larden himself was in Somalia angering the population against the US in 1993 (According to the history channle). The reason why i did not list some African countrys is because of economical, transportation, less anti-west and military density reasons.
But Pence we need to know who we are dealing with before we choose a name... ;)
Thats what we are doing now :-D
the Russians reached Berlin first, effectifly Ending the war,if the the Russians reached Berlin a few hours later it is very likely the US would have reached Berlin first effectivly Ending the war.
Wrong Eden, it was decided by the allied leaders that Russia would take Berlin.

You see this is where coalition is more appealing as it means we can incorporate the weapons on various nations etc and make a force that could take on the US!

If you have a bunch of guys with AKs it isn't goign to succeed

Egypt has Abrams tanks eh?

I think a set of T-72 AL with 125mm guns can compare to an Abrams (At the ranges that we fight in BF2 anyway).

T-90's are worth keeping but only as specialist/spearhead tanks.

Edit:

Whoah. What makes a war with China and the United States unlikely. I know we here in the U.S conduct alot of trade with China, however China has an economy thats growing very fast. hell we had alot of trade with Japan, hell the U.S even helped Japan come out of their isonalist state. Yet we still went to war with Japan, even dropped an atom on them. Anyhow, from what I know there is in fact tension between the U.S and China. If China invades Taiwan which is supported by the United States, there could be a potential war. Just as if North Korea invaded South Korea, or a middle-east nation attacked Israel etc.

Anyhow, theres no middle-east nation capable of rivaling the U.S. Back in the 1990s Saddam had the fourth largest field army, and were probably one of the most powerful armies in the middle-east. Yet the first Gulf War was more of a walkover.

And the US supported Iraq against Iran.

To say nothing of the second Gulf War.. that wasn't even a war, it was more like a very expensive road trip from Kuwait to Baghdad.

True, there is no country in the Middle East that can hold a candle to the US, but I think Iran would put up a good fight. If I remember correctly Iran has some semi-modern Chinese and Russian military equipment including T-72s, BMP-2s, SA-2/SA-5/SA-6s, Su-24s, MiG-29s, etc. It's Armed forces is also made up of two main branches: the Regular Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Forces. The Regular Army is just that, the regular field army; the IRGF is more of a paramilitary/security militia. Infact I think it would be very interesting to have an Iran side and blend these two "personalities" into it; on some maps it would have battle tanks, jet fighters, all of the conventional "goodies" while on other maps they may have few of these "goodies" and contain older, lighter vehicles and less sophisticated equipment, and have more of a guerilla insurgency persona.

We also have to take into consideration here that is isnt about who will win in a fight, afterall you can say that the US has better and more powerfull equipment but theres only going to be 8/16/32 US troops agains 8/16/32 Iranian/Egyption/whoever troops.
