yea but just something for those people who said big "SLOW" helicopter, the chinook is one of, if not THE fastest helicopter in the US military! I watched a show once on the military channel about it and apparently Apache pilots often have to ask Chinook's to SLOW DOWN in order for them to keep up! So the Chinook is far from slow.

Someone mentioned at page 2 about closing / opening the rear door, that can be done. FH2 guys managed to do that to their Ju-52 transport aircraft on Invasion of Crete map, also it's only a cosmetic since people can enter the plane from being next to hull and exit is setted outside of the craft.

Nice touch to have though, and if the exit point is coded to be inside the vehicle, pilot has to open the rear hatch for the guys to hop out and so on. Unless people can enter from the cockpit.

I know this sounds crazy but would it be possible to just store more than seven infantry in the back of the Chinook? If the door opens and closes couldn't you just stand there in the back, or would the moving helicopter kill you?

Tbh I don't think we should have the chinook.

It's more for moving troops to the battle site rather than around during the battle, it's not really designed to come under fire (bullets can still come through the sides) and it wouldn't be used realistically in game.

Err; Herbiie, you do know that there are PR devs/military advisors currently serving with the British armed forces? I assume that they know how and when Chinooks are used

Back when I was in an Air Assault unit, we used the CH-47 for all kinds of air operations. The aircraft is equipped with defensive weapons and is fully capable of fending for itself when needed, and when supplied with proper additional air and ground support.

In case you are wondering, aircraft (rotor-wing) are not armed with defensive weapons like door guns just so they can look sexy. Those weapons are in place for a purpose, like giving Mr. Insurgent a really bad day.

This includes a weapon mount on both sides, and often one on the rear (ramp).

Does this mean we'll get a weapon on the chinook ramp?

It is a WIP, I'm sure there's reasons why it hasn't been intentionally revealed in any blogs/highlights yet.

I only found them screenshots because I was browsing through Stigger's gallery.

no its to scale and no the rear wheels are correct...

thats the Main idea ^_^ im loving it

I hope it's like a flying tank. Hopefully .50 cals can't take it out, only by heavy AA weapons (SA-7, stinger)
