^ This man knows how to knife. First battle of PRT C7, bam knife in the face.
Keep them, would rather see the thermate grenades spread thinner than knives go.

i dont need my knife if there is any other way to take down FB. I dont need it for killing.
If im on the way with my sq
1. i never runned out of ammo... (because we have a working sq layout...)
2. if some one knifes me, you really think you killed me stealthy? Im running ts and ingame voip, so i tell my sq that i got knifed. my sl knows were i was killed, sent me an medic, checks out were u are and tells it the commander...
So u really think you can make a stealthy kill in PR??

Still, even with TS and the ingame VOIP, at least you don't alert the rest of the other side to your presence, at least in PUGs.

there is no need to alert the whole team. Its enough that my sq knows were the can find the knife kings...

1. You are not shooting enough. I've been in a squad where everyone was either out, or on their last mag.
2. Yes it is a stealth kill, there is no rifle sound, no muzzle flash. You've killed, you've left and now all they have is you in their ear saying, I just got killed. Medic goes for you, and either gets knifed when he tries to heal you, and fails because knives kill instead of wound, or shot by the person who did the knifing. Critical first strike and your squad is down by two already.
Knifing supplements your shooting and has its uses. I don't agree with taking away any of the current kit items, but if something has to go, incendiaries before the knife.

Ok squad moves up, gets ambushed and slaughtered. Well done.
Or, one squad member moves up, enemy shows his face, and 5 guys on a ridge or building (quite close by) open up and he goes back down, allowing our little friend to run up to it and toss an incendiary on it (quicker than knifing if there's enemy about), and when the eenmy spawn point is down the squad moves in and clears it. Much better than half your squad beign killed by one guy.
Ok yes you disable their spawn, but there still may be enemies about. I'd rather lob a couple of incendiaries on it and then get my entire squad out without really having to have fought and wasted ammunition. it's much better to have one, maybe 2 people sneak up.
Btw, I'm not saying have the one guy sprint 200m, I mean like the squad is 50m away or something

If it is so cool, easy and usefull, im wondering why not everyone plays this way... I play this game since yours now, and i think i got knifed 10 times...
So for me its not the big deal with the knife...
And your 2. point works only if the sq you attack is totally stupid...
And you said im not shooting enough:
i:
- shoot when i can hit someone and not wilding arround to shot things i cant hit.
- if ammo gets low, some one from the sq brings us a ammo box by air or truck. or the next that dies spawns with ammo...
Ammo for me is also not a big deal, when you talk to your sq members and to the rest of your team, for me or us it never was a problem to get new ammo on the battlefield.

i have killed 0 dudes with knife in pr and played since 0.4...
i have been stabbed maybe 3 times in this time...its a waste of one weapon slot.
just bring that breathing what sniper has to indicate deviation and put the knife in "unarmed" kit.

Why revive such an old thread? Its not going to happen, and for good reason.

it has nothing to do with knife being and not being in game
its a waste of one weapon slot.
Well, what groundbreaking feature/weapon is there waiting for free weapon slot on all kits?
Knife is a useful thing and needed from time to time - i don't see it disappearing any time soon.

yes sir,im noob
i thought that breathing is taking one slot from snipers inventory and cos in riflemans inventory key "3" is to change your fire rate theres no room for that breathing.
thats way i proposed to move knife in "unarmed" kit and add breathing to the knife slot as "aim"
and when knife is just moved to the "unarmed" kit,its still there.

You might be forgetting that we need knives for FOB destruction?

Settling time takes 4 seconds and there is literally no need for this breathing for simple rifleman. Tbh i cant believe you have problems with it if you're playing since 0.4 as you say.
There are also other ways of indicating deviation.

im not forgetting that.
for me stabbing the radio is just not that good method to destroy enemy firebases.
i would rather see that fobs are destroyed with apc`s,airstrikes, mortars, with c4,incediary grenade or just killing enough people around the fob that it dissapears...
but that is another thing

Is it possible to map the entrenching tool's function to be right-click instead of left click? If so, I have an interesting idea, though I do not know how it is reflected in actual combat.
For kits that have an entrenching tool, make the ET the 1-slot weapon, map a shovel attack to left-click and shovel build to right click. Or, if the right-click mapping for shovel use is not possible, for the PLA (because of the all-purpose shovel video whose link I cannot recall), make the ET both their 2 and 1 slot weapon, and give them a melee attack with the 1 slot. version.
Just throwing it out there for discussion, not expecting any implementation, as fixing what isn't broken is WAY down the list of the team's priorities, I imagine.

Knife is also my last resort wepon.
This thread is like saying that we dont need the backwards key because you can just turn around and run forward.

Jafar you can't have an attack and repair tool in one item.

That does not make sense. The knifing of a firebase represents overrunning the enemy position and thus halting enemy reinforcements and supplies, etc.

But he would rather shoot/blow it up.
I've used the knife maybe four times, but unless there is something else to put in its place, then I see no reason to remove it.
