hate it... spreads out squads too much, does the reverse of teamwork if you ask me. i'd raither see it as lasting 60 seconds, but auto reloads after 5mins without needing a crate.

I find this has caused people to be vehicle whores and there is less squad teamwork.
Having the old rally system but having it be overrun more easily would suit my preference. Good job, and I will always like to see more city maps.

Because of the rally point changes I don't use it anymore most of the time... for me it's wait for a medic or spawn back at FOB/main now.

I haven't played on TG in couple of years, and most of the people I play with support the removal of the RPs...

I wouldn't go as far as to say that, but if you want a good game with plenty of team work, the Tactical Gamer server is the place to be. Only problem with TG is that it is always full. They need a second server.

As for the rally point change...I love it.

People complain to much about walking. I think it makes the game much more strategical.

New rally solution is great.

I have yet to find someone in game who doesn't like the new rally system.

voted i love it.
even if the game becomes harder and maybe more frustrating when it comes tovehicle wasting by newbies;
it is way more realism and interesting to think about the logistics and reinforcement lines.

i think gameplay will change even more in the next months, squads have to plan approaches better then yet, learn that it is risky to simply run into an objektive without respawn.

p.s: nearly voted "rally what?" because it sounds so funny

I don't know why people find eg. logitrucks so realistic. There is no way there will be logistics trucks used as they are in PR. As for mechanized units they have their stuff in their APCs, infantry have their stuff in their rucksacks. The supply unit wont get into the front during the fight.

The stuff you have in the beginning of the fight is what you got.

PR 909(RALLY) vs PR 874(RALLY)

I'm going to put my views into place here on what changes have impacted people.

Bad news needs to come first.

THE BAD

RALLY POINTS(one word, "useless")

I think the new rally points are rubbish. The only use for a rally now is to get a squad member or 2 back into action(oh wait you can't even do that... too many enemies near by lol ). 60 seconds is not long enough for a rally to be up for. In my opinion rally's should have a much greater timer, i.e. 15 to 20 minutes. And you still have to arm them after you use them from a FOB.

I think people saying the change in the rally system is great for v909 isn't accurate, due to the fact that many, maybe even most PR players don't visit these forums.

TRICKLE DOWN EFFECT FROM NEW RALLY POINTS

Because of the rally change I find myself, my squad & anyone trying to play tactical; playing Construction Worker at least 1/3 of the match only to see them get overrun and destroyed and going to go diggin yet again. I don't know about you guys, but I don't find it entertaining to build FOBs for extended periods of time. Not only that but its hard to find people in servers that will lead a squad into building FOBs to start with. I build alot mind you. I jump onto a server and make sure my squad and my team has a spawn point but it always seems that the favor is never returned.

SUPPLY CRATES

Also the Crates needed to build FOB have become more scarce. Only one ground vehicle type has crates and those are few to find(and half of the time they are abandoned out in the middle of nowhere so it is useless anyways). It doesn't really matter if it only takes one crate to build a FOB. How many times have you been on a server where it was common that everyone dropped one crate just to deploy a FOB by itself? 2 are always dropped no matter the situation. The only thing that the new change favors are the one crate in helo drops(which is helpful for helo but i liked the origonal way when it took 2).

I have spoken to many... many people in game and dang near everyone has said they hate the new rally system. It takes the fun out of the game by at least half.

THE FACTIONS

I like and enjoy the new factions as do we all in our own ways, but having this many may be too many. Not a big issue really.

THE MAPS

Most new maps have become more of sniper heavens than anything. that is all.

THE GOOD

WEAPON CHANGES

Excellent work on weapon changes. Very impressive work on the skins, sounds the whole bit. The weapons needed the boost in accuracy as well! Also like the idea that not all kits have the Incidiary grenades and what not. The ability to choose between iron sights and scope in request menu is amazing as well.

INTERFACE

The new interface is well made and working at almost 100% effectiveness. Spotting targets on map is still a bit clunky but very useful. I like how a SL has to use the mic/comm to deploy objects and mark targets.

MAP CHANGES

Many maps from the previous version have been slightly to heavily modified and all i can say is this. Some are bad, some are good... more good than bad.

END

To Sum it all up for you. Yes this can be taken as a negative feedback but this is what is needed here. There are too many people agreeing with someone on these forums and not taking into consideration what is actually going on in game. I used to be completely excited to get home and play me some PR... now its as if i force myself to play and i don't think i want to much longer.

At least provide an option for Longer more effective rally points? like before? v909A or v909B????

Questions for the Dev's.

What is the point of even having a Rally Point anymore?

Wasn't the ability to drop rally's, half of the fun to begin with?

This is a realism mod, but isn't keeping people away from the action taking away from the fun?

I disagree, both the old and new system have pros and cons, but all in all this invites more teamwork and makes tactical FOBs important for the team. I find on servers that have a dedicated logistics squad (2 people usually) have much better rounds.

rally point is not anymore rally what we get used in other versions.
i think its a tool, when somebody joins in your squad middle of the game,he can ask squadleader to put rally down that he can spawn near his squad.
new rally, you can also used it like "call of reinforcements"
so when your squad takes casualties and reviving is too dangerous...
squad fallback, put the rally and "wounded" can spawn there like a form in a new soldier.
but nobody use this method.
i dont like old rally cos it makes game too codlike vanillalike.
endless stream of enemy just runs from the forest.
and i dont perfectly like new rally system cos its not fun.
so i have proposed system what is middle of this two options.
so give the rally limited amount spawns and after this it dissapears.
maybe 5 or 6 spawns.you can rearm it from outpost..etc.
with this kind of rally, its not endless stream and its more fun to place those rallys.

That would be more acceptable... but understand this. Rally points are what keeps people playing. FOBs can only do so much until they become repetitious(which is what i thought the devs were trying to avoid?). what i mean is you spawn from the same point every single time. head to the same location from that fob... every single time. very blah.

CoD-like is what is it now. Never seen so many guys running around at random as in 0.9.

1. As you said, "The only use for a rally now is to get a squad member or 2 back into action"
2. not really?
3. Thats your opinion. Also on the flipside, i enjoy it more being able to kill a squad and not have them spawn 50m away and rush me again.

As for 2 versions, DEVs have stated many times with changes that people say will destory PR (SL spawn removal, deviation, APC spawn removal) that they dont want a split community. We play it how the DEVs want us to.

Thats there problem, ill be playing normally with my squad in the meantime.

Some important points there but this could just end up as the same argument as on the poll about the new rally system. A lot of people including myself think the new system is horrible but who knows if anything will change - every major new release seems to bring an overhaul of the firebase/rally system.
gazzthompson wrote:Thats there problem, ill be playing normally with my squad in the meantime.
Gaz this just seems to sum up the problem. You and all the TG crowd enjoying the new system was obviously going to be the case - it makes for a more realistic and slower paced game. But for the people who prefer not to have regular jogging sessions from main or edge-of-map firebases it's not so fun.

In the balance of reality and arcade perhaps the previous version was too arcadey. Being able to set rallies anywhere with 2 men was too simple although having them destroyable when enemies were close balanced it a bit. Rendering them virtually useless as they are now just makes it too dull.
