While I love realism this goes too far in my opinion. I'd try it for sure but this doesn't sound fun. What if you die to a lag spike? Remove the chances of a cheap death and you may be on for something though.

I'd love to do this, but i don't like the idea of having someone take over your place when you die. I think it should be 'You have your army, this is what you've got to work with'.

Would it be possible to create a 3rd team where all players who die are instantly teamswitched to, and then given PRBots so they can watch the rest of the battle unfold, but they can't use global chat options etc etc.

But i think its a VERY good idea, liking the sound of it!

IIRC you can create a 3rd team, but there are no guarentees it would work...

The bad side of this - when there are only like ... 10 people left in the whole team the game becomes really... really.. really... slow and boring. Or even worse - hunting down 1 single guy in the whole map.

There should be stuff like:

if team is XX% bigger than other team -> game won. So for example if on one team there are 20 guys alive and on the other just 5,the 20 guys win the game.

if new players were allowed to join after the dead ones left the server... but that would destroy te whole idea.
if there were 128 players it would be really awesome and we could adjust the ticket ratio/bleed for the team's death ratio or so... idk

That %-ratio-thing might actually work, at least for AAS.

While on AAS it might be a fair fight, insurgents have a clear disadvante due to their bad equipment. IRL you have much more insurgents and they are far more difficult to spot amongst civilians (say in Basrah, Fallujah). So to compensate for that they would have to have more players on their team in this one-life-mode, imho. Of course the %-ratio can't be applied then, if the insurgents start with 50-100% more players by default.

imo it would be better to have certain objectives for the teams and or timelimit of say one hour (or whatever seems best for the mission) so stalling wouldn't be an option.

It's just a matter of organizing, announcing and advertising the event, I am absolutely positive that lack of players won't be a problem!

I would recommend Muttrah city sense it would be easy to find each other instead of a huge map. Also the face that half of it is water is going to force people to fight closer. Can you imagine no need to build a fob!

I'm in.

Won't be easy to teamwork with a lot of people joining/quiting but this sound epic !

I would participate and so would the 10 guys i play with frequently (who dont use the forums).

Im sure we'd have to figure out a good system to it but it'd make it a lot more realistic and imo fun. So now snipers are super duper scary! :D

I think personally the switching out of server is better than just 32v32 or 64v64 because the tickets ARE supposed to represent REINFORCEMENTS so it'd make sense cause no two soldiers are the same...

I do things like this in the realism community for Red Orchestra: Darkest Hour mod and Tactical Realism community in Cod2.

This sounds so so good, totally down! Im thinking BLUFOR vs INS to represent present times. I like the fact you would actually have to use teamwork to win. People will be more careful about their surroundings and would probably be as close to real life you could get in a game which is still very far away!

I will try it, and see if I can get some clan members to try it too.
