If you die in a vehicle, static weapon, or get a headshot with .5 cal, you are insta-dead - your team loose only 1 ticket, because you dont enter the "wounded" state. That was said by some R-DEV right after PR 0.95 changelog came out.
So a APC with crew costs 7/12 tickets, depending on the cost of the vehicle.
This is what manual says.
Jeep or truck:
2 tickets
Transport helicopter:
5 tickets
APC:
5 tickets
Tank or IFV:
10 tickets
Jet or attack helicopter:
10 tickets

Good survival strategy -- if you are ever under fire, don't go prone don't try to see where it came from, don't stand there, don't be retarded. Start sprinting to the nearest cover and moving randomly. Chances are, if they're shooting at you they have you in their sights, you don't.
also, if you happen to kill a sniper, take his kit and put his flare on top of it. that way, you'll know if he tries to take it back.
IIRC the ins shotgun doesn't have settle time

hmm... something isnt right then since im still loosing 2 tickets for dien inside a vehicle... strange!
Btw I think everyone knows what the manual says about tickets the question is does everyone know what the difference is between a APC and an IFV? Thats why i put names and maps on the vehicles.

The Canadian LAV-III is an IFV. To be blunt there are very few true APC in PR, The BDRM 2 is an armoured recon car for example. The BTRs, MT-LB, M113, AAV-7A1, and Stryker, are some (did I for get any?) of the only APCs in the game. If it carries troops, is armoured, and has a big gun, it's more than likely to be an IFV. I don't think anything with a 20mm+ cannon is an APC.

This is something I learned, but I am not 100% sure if its in the manual, so please feel free to add anything.
If you are a grenadier you can fire more accurately by hitting T (or Q, someone correct that). You can choose the distance you want to fire. This is only effective if someone with a laser designator tells you the distance.
I have only had one squad leader smart enough to utilize me like that (as a grenadier).

Yes, you press Q to access your GL sights and change the angle - set the distance you're about to fire. And you don't always have to rely on SL and his designator. Use map grids to learn approximate distance to your target. One keypad is 25 m in 1km maps, 50m in 2km maps or 75m in 4km maps

Grenadier sights are new to 0.95 and are in the manual. It mostly tells you how the basics work, but not things like hitting (rapidly works best) [LEFT SHIFT] in vehicles to get a speed boost.

Again i watched a LAV go down by a bomb truck and the team instantly lost 9 tickets. Noone else was in the area. I read about the talk that you only loose 1 ticket when dien in the vehicle but i think they only used that for a short period and changed it back because it didnt make sence that the team was loosing less point if everyone jumped into the nearest apc if they could see a bomb truck comming. Or the crew woudnt abonden a burning apc because it would just give the team a bigger loss.

To tell if it is an APC or IFV has more to do with it's role in the fight than the actual definition code i would say, but the general definition of a IFV is:
Support role Multiple weapon-systems and possible infantry firing ports.
Armour greater than light armour
The LAV-III is contradicting itself in a way because it has upgraded armour and therefore no longer can be considered Light armoured like the stryker.
If you consider the LAV-III an IFV then i would definitely also consider the AAV-7A1 as an IFV since it also has advanced armour and several weapon-systems though as is intended for assault not just troop transport.

You will die.
That's one thing the manual never said

If you fire as an APC gunner long enough to overheat your cannon, switch weapons to keep firing (it's almost instantaneous)

ignore all the BS about APC's and IFV's. in the context of PR, an APC can be defined as any armored vehicle that can carry passengers. an IFV can be defined as as any armored vehicle that can only be crewed by two(the exception being a main battle tank). however you can refer to any light armored vehicle as an APC and people will understand what your talking about.
also, there is no such thing as a "light tank".

For 0.91 someone posted a list of all the vehicles and it had what class each was. If someone asks a dev might post a list for 0.95.

I don't think Tanks and IFVs have boost but APCs tend to have it specially the russian faction tunacan or 'Sillipurkki' as we call it in Finnish. Supply truck I think does not have it but I still hold the shift down, maybe it's just in my head =) some insurgent cars tend to be less powerfull than others and react to boost differently... the techies and the german faction jeeps can climb almost anywhere!
To the previous other conversations I would say APC, IFV what ever, all the same. An amored vehicle, and sometimes a very scary one. I'm personally not that interested on the points system in this kind of detail.

A really useful thread. Can anyone make this sticky? So people can look at it all the time.
By the way I think PR community needs a wiki. There is a lot to know and a wiki is more accessible.

Also, 2 things :
1. By standing about 1 or 2 meters away from an ammo bag (not standing right on top of it), it will give you more ammo/last longer.
2. By doing ^^^ you can re-arm a LAT from an ammo bag.
You can rearm a HAT as well. This is one of the best tricks in the game. If you do it right you can get (an estimation) 5 times as much ammo out of a bag.
