HE rounds from M203's need to travel at least 70 meters before they can explode.

I bet the GP30 is like that

I wanna see that in PR.

And I wanna see technicals as well

Good call by Cerberus. Put an end to these ninnies jumping backwards and firing off their 203s for cheap kills.

This is one of my biggest gripes against vanilla bf2. There is no way that someone can discharge a 203 round at less than 5 meters and survive while you get blown away. The 203 will not explode at such a close range.

This is also evident for those who dont believe it if you play Americas Army. Atleast that game is realistic.

Yeah, if you've ever read Bravo Two Zero (SPOILERS)

While he's captured, his interrogators are checking out his equipment, and they find his M203. They're fooling around with it and Andy tries to tell them it's still got an HE round in it. They don't listen, and they fire the M203 while in the tiny room. Fortunately, it doesn't explode

There's a way to turn the fuse off but it's not advised. I love those Russian ones for the OG-25/30 that bounce and explode about waist height. Nasty!

Well nobody asked for it so I will. How about adding SP and COOp support?
There are hundreds of people that cannot alway play online that would love a realistic mod like yours. Lan Parties of 5 or less people need bots. And the hugh community of COOP plaYERS that EA shat upon when they removed COOp support in the 1.12 patch :-x

I know you guys probably don't have the skills or time to add coop back, but since christmas is so close and you never know if santa is listening, I thought I'd ask anyway.

There is a mini fix that puts a throwable knife in BF2, The Merc Mod guys put it in theirs and it turns out to be the best way to guard a flag now. You can throw that knife with great accuracy. Its not leaning toward realistic, but it is fun to use!

I'm going to make a suggestion that was proposed to me by some of my clan-mates:
  • Add a server-side option for kill-notification
Personally I like it the way it is, but I can see the argument for it. I guess several people have been turned off the mod for that reason. Making it an option would entice more to play and then we could switch it off again :)

Anyway, keep up the good work. I've been very happy with this mod every time I've played it.

Jayzus, that's scary. I hope you never have to fight anyone with a knife who knows what he's doing. And as far as I know the objective of this mod is to make it more realistic from a military standpoint, not turn it into Project Saturday Night in the Trailer Park.

I guess I'll just make a little wish list:

1) Get rid of bunny hopping.

2) Radically increase falling damage and get rid of the laughable parachutes.

3) Radically increase weapon lethality for virtually all weapons in the game. Vanilla BF2 isn't a joke, it's an insult to jokes.

4) Make it so servers have a lot of options as far as class limits, excluding certain unit types (aircraft, vehicles, etc.). That way those that want them can have them, but those who want to avoid the arcade side of the game as much as possible can stick to the infantry stuff, which is what this mod could make BF2 excel at.

5) Fix the fire and movement. In other words, if you're moving, you ain't gonna hit much firing. If you're kneeling, and not moving, you're in decent shape. Prone unsupported is the best stance available. Also, nix the staying in sight mode while crawling. If you can pull this off in real life I'll buy you a Maserati.

That's all I can come up with right now off the top of my head, but I know there are about thirty more things I can annoy you with if it's not 0130 and I'm trying to force myself to think of them. I know you're already doing some of this stuff. Good luck to you in moving the PRMM forward and developing the actual PRM.

^Agreed.
Standing should not be very accurate, crouching is better and prone is the most accurate.

I don't know if this is possible, but adding in a fast prone move (like OFP). If you hold shift down and crawl you will go a little bit faster then normal (like sprinting, it will take away stamina), still not being able to shoot of course. This change might make people crawl more often instead of putting themselves in danger. As of now, no one wants to crawl, because it's too slow.

fast crawl!!! great suggestion!

but i agree, there is no way to effectively aim and crawl! next time your playing airsoft/paintball, try to do this, its not possible ;)

ECale3 wrote:User controlled bipods that actually improve weapon stability.

Not so much of BF's bullshit overheating. Gatling guns have multiple barrels to reduce overheating, machinguns are designed for sustained fire, etc.

inability to fire accurately while dropping prone

proper behaviors and speeds for Air to Air and Surface to Air missiles.

flares not making radars break lock on vehicles.

Realistic aircraft payloads but mandatory landing for reloads w/ longer reload times.

Mobile artillery.

player controlled artillery (even the fixed units) aka requires player to man artillery control and play artillery battallion commander. No magical overheads, just computer map coordinates based on artillery requests by Spec Ops, Scout Snipers, and Squad and Platoon leaders.

More vicious arty strikes.

Prevent players from forming new squads while other squads are not full

Realistic wounding behaviors (ex. .50 cal rounds from MGs and Heavy Sniper rifles = one shot kill when hit to head or chest)

better chopper behaviors, blackhawk flies like an airborne barge.

Planes have working radars.

Addition of chaff to help spoof radar.

Stealth aircraft.

night maps

low light/ ir night vision equipment.
MG's still fire when overheated, just innaccurately.

1) Mortar strikes

2) More tactical maps. Good leadership should be rewarded with a victory.

3) M240G

4) decreased accuracy when being shot at

5) More intimidating sounds when bullets pass

6) RPG-7

7) Variety of weapons for terrorist forces

one thing a realism war based mod needs......NPC CIVILIANS and local life! The towns and villages looks so dead which makes it all feal like an arena. In Falujah there were thousands of civilians in there during the attack. Also, dogs, cats or whatever local animals there should be in the area (cows, sheep etc). Thsi would bring life and depth to the maps.

Obviously this can't be done in BF2 though :(

Shouldn't all the civies be hiding inside?

I highly doubt it since more civilians die in war than soldiers, since the start of last century there have been 20 civilians die for every one soldier dead...somehow I doubt they're all indoors ;) In Falujah photos you see many civilians outside and in the streets, running, hiding, watching etc...but of course many would be indoors.

Plus were they gonna put the animals?

Smoke grenades should create more smoke for a longer period of time
