[R-DEV]Spec wrote:Re-opened. There are some individuals we are investigating further, but the server itself is not breaking license rules, nor is its management. I urge everyone with compliants about specific administrators to contact myself via PM.
Please be civil in this thread and report posts that try to stir up further trouble.
While the gameplay on this server wasn't always exemplary, this is largely due to the playerbase which we cannot mass-punish or anything, so don't play there if you think the situation is not bearable for you. Again, if you have a specific issue with an admin, let me know directly.
Thank you Spec, I appreciate your professionalism and responsiveness on the matter.
Now that we've had a full review, I hope this kills any arguments that FCV is somehow breaking the server license, or that we should for some reason have our server revoked for running our community the way we see fit, and the way our playerbase enjoys (most of whom rarely use these forums.)
Therefore any additional suggestions that our server should be "removed" from the Project Reality community, as well as any personal or ad hominem attacks against our staff, will be seen as slander... and I will ensure those behind it will be banned from our server. Permanently. And yes, we can.
Otherwise, any legitimate server breach concerns, you make take them to Spec and have faith that all genuine complaints will be taken seriously.
And just as a reminder "I had a bad time on FCV, and I didn't like the server, the admins were unresponsive and clan biased" is totally legitimate feedback. "So and so is a childish **** who should be banned from Project Reality along with this entire shit server and their autistic admins" is slander and I will fucking ban you from our server. We work too hard, for too long to put up with that shit. "Freedom of Speech" means you won't go to federal jail for talking shit, not that we won't ban you from our community server. Welcome to the world.

Free Candy Van is finally back up. Its been an obscene amount of work to get it running again, in addition to our new replacement website... which I'm happy to say is actually a lot better imo. Phoenix rising I guess.
About a month ago we had essentially the worst attack we've ever had, likely because it was an inside job.
I cannot stress enough that this attack was very highly illegal, and whoever perpetrated it is very much a criminal. Unfortunately we're not knowledgeable enough to have retained any actionable evidence, otherwise if we had... we would be taking that person to court, and they would very likely be facing jail time, and the loss of their career.
In fact honestly I would not be surprised if whoever attacked us, is the same person (or people) currently attacking the Project Reality site and master server. These are trying times for sure, and its important now more than ever to stick together, and ensure both this community and Project Reality itself stay resilient.
We've now completely remade our site, with a Wordpress framework, and a Simple

ress forum backend. We're really happy with how it looks and functions so far, however we're still working on polishing up some of the systems and functionality. Wordpress is really flexible, and very pretty, but also rather unstable. So we've got some work ahead of us to keep that community front in the best shape.
The Project Reality server itself is also back up, and functioning strongly. The reason it took a little longer than normal to put back up, is because we had to rehost ALL our hardware. We essentially burned down all our old servers, and moved everything to a much more secure internal framework that we had been building previously.
Actually just in general... I'm kindof almost happy that everything went down, it gave us a great opportunity to make some pretty drastic changes that I think were ultimately for the better, and give us a lot more potential for growth in the long run.
I want to thank our friends in Based who helped us remake everything, and we even received offers from =HOG= to help rebuild our server, which I thought was pretty selfless. So thank you everyone who put in the effort to get our server back up and running, you really made me happy to see everyone come together to help us when we were in need, which is ultimately what I love most about this community.
Finally we've shut down our Teamspeak permanently to move to Discord. Its no secret that I'm sponsored, and borderline employed by Discord (similar to my relationship with Machinima) but I want to stress that's because I believe in what they're creating, and I genuinely think that it has a much brighter future than anything else on the market currently. Which is why I work with them.
Additionally, I'm not gonna lie Teamspeak was becoming a pain in the *** to maintain, to the point where it was constantly breaking, people screwing up the permissions, and random chinese people (we have no idea we just know they're from china because of their IPs) hacking into it constantly.
So that's everything from me currently. Sorry for the wall of text, but its been a long time since I've posted anything because I've had my nose to the grinder trying to rebuild everything since shit went down a month ago. We can finally get back to enjoying Project Reality (& Squad <3)
GG.
I'll make a TLDR too cause this turned out to be way too long. I'm literally ranting in text form.
