Everything was working great before I installed todays patch. Now when I get onto servers my squadmates can hear my talking but I cant hear anyone, though I can see the yellow sound icon light up when they do.

I tried running the BF2VoiceSetup thing and it wasnt picking up my mic on the threshold test, though Im pretty sure it was like that before and it worked fine. I use my mic regularly on vent and before on bf2 voip so I know that isnt the problem.

I havent done any changes aside from installing the patch, and now I have this issue. Really sucks because PR with no comms is really frustrating.

Anyone have any suggestions for this? I really wanna play PR right now

Do you use a headset?

did you play on the CIA server ?

Hello mate, VOIP on BF2 comes through the CENTRE speaker.

It probably is working, but you don;t have a centre speaker (but the PC thinks you do).

Right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar, then Playback Devices, then Speaker Setup. See if the Centre speaker works.


Had this problem myself you see.. Strokes chin wistfully. It took me fooking ages to realise all this.

Yes I use a headset, I have it configured for input thru usb headset and output through my speakers.

I havent played on CIA since patch, I was playing on HOG and was really bummed since they were having voip issues prior to the patch and I was all excited to play again afterwards.

Ill try the center speaker thing, let you know how it goes
