Figured I'd spice things up and post a couple images of myself. This kind of ties in with the "Are You a Soldier?" Thread, so those who are... feel free to contribute.

First off, myself recieving a Contact Report during Exercise Iron Talon. I'm Reconaissance and was tasked as an Observer at the time, so naturally a lot of Situational Awareness and Radio/Note taking is required. the Callsign ahead of me found itself on a False Crest and was engaged by the enemy. They called in the Contact Report while it was going on, and i was taking the necessary info needed (Grid References, Characteristics of the enemy on hand etc). This info was then handed to my Section Commander who would decide what to do with this info.



Secondly, I took part in an Inner-Unit unofficial Grapple Compitition. It was all in good fun, and hands were shaken prior and the loser simply owed the winner a beer and a pat on the back. I was slotted to fight 2 guys, and won both fights. (first fight was won by means of a Guillotine Choke, the 2nd by a Kimura Joint lock)

Solodude, yah BJJ has always been an interest of mine. I will be training as a full-time student starting September with Canadas current 5x BJJ Champion, along side the same trainers that have trained UFC Fighters such as Carlos Newton.

i would have said that was a british unit if it weren't for the maple leaf on your shoulder in that second pic. that lock looks pretty painful hope you didn't hurt the guy too much

Well, the history of the unit dates back to The Seven years War in 1755 where a man by the name of Robert Rogers raised a Company of Rangers to serve the British Army.The company's official instructions were to reconnoitre enemy positions, obtain information, take prisoners, destroy houses, barns, barracks and boats as well as supply convoys destined for French forts and outposts. The Rangers were not a traditional British unit; instead, they wore a nondescript green uniform and adopted the tactics of their enemy, the Indians. By The American Revolution, Robert Rogers was a Retired British Major and George Washington distrusted him and had him imprisoned for a 2nd time. He escaped and began to openly espouse the British cause. He was commissioned by General Sir William Howe to raise a battalion called the Queen's Rangers from loyalists in New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Later, the Queen's Loyal Virginia Regiment was absorbed whole.

The unit has been altered, revamped and shook up since then during different conflicts, and is now known as The Queens york Rangers. Interesting fact, the U.S. Rangers draw their History from the same Officer and his men, "Rogers Rangers".

27 battle Honours including Ypres, The Somme, Arras, Vimy, Hill 70, Passchendaele, Amiens, Cambrai and Flanders. We currently have a surprising number of soldiers who have moved onto taskings in such outfits as the Joint Task Force 2 (JTF2), Pathfinders and Airborne Btlns.

As you can see... I'm a Military history nut job, and no I didnt hurt em too bad. He had a sore arm for a bit afterwards due to his persistance and refusal to tap when he should have...but thats the nature of the beast. We're good buddies and go back as far as Basic, so there were no hard feelings.

Ummm, in the worst case scenerio he was being serious. So, lets all prepare for the worst and let's try to explain. They created that camo using a computer, then enlarged it and printed it out. *gets on knees and prays* Lord, please help this man to learn that sarcasim does not work on forums. I pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

The proper term being CADPAT (Canadian Disruptive Pattern). It was originally designed and implemented up here in Canada, as it has proven to be the most effective camoflauge pattern available today. The United States Marines recently adopted it as their Standard Cbt. Uniform, which is deemed MARPAT (Marine Pattern I believe). But yes, you're right..it looks like pixles.

It is actually quite shocking how well it works. The mix of colours allows you to blend into any environment. We have Woodland (seen in the Pics), Artic and Arid Region CADPAT.

speaking this type of camo, my JROTC unit in school is getting them, next year so if we do get them ill post a picture of my self, i just need to take a before(in reg camies) and after in the good stuff camo ^^, thought i am a little photo shy ill do it for the mod ops:

im not thrilled with the US Army's choice of digital camo every one says its great and itll blend into woodland or desert i look at it and dont really buy it
