For new players

Just a collection of a few points for new players that come to mind, that should be followed to have a positive first experience with the mod. Eventually stuff can be added/edited and it can be stickied.

Long time players including admins, have developped a certain set of expectations towards players. Not knowing about them might get you kicked or even banned, I have seen it happen.

1. Read the manual. There is a lot going on in the mod and there will be questions, even after you read the manual. If you didnt even read that it will be just too much to handle.

2. Spend some time in coop or singleplayer to learn to handle the kits and assets. This is especially important for air assets. Their spawntime is up to 15 min. You do not have to be an ace to pilot them, but crashing them because you are trying to learning to fly during a live game can earn you a kick/ban from the server.

3. Work your way up. Before you command or use any assets, join an infantry squad and try to get a feel for the flow of a typical game.

4. Teamwork is emphasized on this mod more so than others. Squadleaders will expect you to have VOIP. On some servers mumble is required as well. VOIP isnt just so you can help the team, but also usefull for you to stay alive and rack up kills, by basing your strategy around revealed enemy positions.

To the new guys:

Infantry is super fun. I only play with assets when I don't feel like being too awesome (or my team needs me in another role, really!). So do NOT look at infantry as a "learning position". Of course it is - but mastering Infantry (becoming a great Infantry Squad Leader) is one of the hardest things to do in PR.

Good luck facing the challenge!
