I heard rumors that the choppers had their sounds lowered to makes them survive longer i assume? But believe this is a bug for the Merlin specifically as its essentially a super stealthy helicopter now.


On Albasrah especially you can hear this.

The Lynx is still heard from a distance beyond visual range, while I noticed that the Merlin cannot be heard unless you are basically right next to it.

I came across multiple encounters where I was a techy guarding a street between two caches. While looking at the south cache, I look north to see whats up, and there is the Merlin taking off after already making a drop, I swear to you, no more than 3 little blocks North of me. Never heard it coming. The Lynx as I mentioned before still sounds normal at a distance.
Other people can confirm this, they were also complaining.

Map Albasrah, on H server, obviously the alt version, and obvious how to reproduce.

Ahh... The sound system is integrated into my motherboard, its sophisticated enough that i never needed to install my sound card.

Im running windows 7 64 bit version. Everything maxed up, plus im using a GTX480 and forcing extra stuff from the card on the game.

The sound bug does not pertain to me alone or anything. Everybody that was around me heard the same thing. Well... rather did not hear it lol.

yes, i confirm. i was in the refinery building on basrah, and the merlin landed north of me near the oil containers. i did not hear it. i was close enough to it so i cud fully auto 4 ppl that got out of it using my AK. thats pretty close.
