The Use of I and L When Naming Grids

Just fyi folks, a lower case "L" and an upper case "I" look the same on the ingame chat font.
Please for my sanity when calling out a grid target in the I or L columns use a lowercase "I" or an Uppercase "L".
example:
"Tank in I7kp3" should be --> "Tank in i7kp3"
"Cache in l5kp2" should be --> "Cache in L5kp2"

Heard of Nato Alphabet? India and Lima should be used for no confusion, but i and L work too.

If the kindergarten has taught me anything it would be the alphabet.

Good news you need it only up to mike. One more reason to use mumble.

Im talking about when you are typing it to the whole team. The phonetic alphabet is nice when using voice communication, but its a waste of time to type out "Lima" when simply "L" does just fine

Seeing as the NATO alphabet, and others like it, are designed for clarity in communications, I generally use it whenever I am talking or typing about a grid reference. It may sound silly to some, but it is something that most people playing can understand, without the need to clarify or be misunderstood.

Oops, let me clarify what I meant. If I'm talking then I say "Bravo" instead of saying just "B" and when typing into any chat (squad/team) I type out "Bravo" instead of typing "B" or "b"

I'm just trying to bring awareness to the fact that 'i' and 'L' look the same for the people who choose to just type the single letter.
Yes I would agree that you can't get much clearer than the NATO alphabet, but I never see anyone using it in game.

I'll see if I can make the chat font a little clearer for these 2 letters.

Depends. As ugly as it is, "Alfa" isn't entirely incorrect. It's one variant. And since Juliet is a name, several variants may also be used.

Heard stuff like this before:
F - Fox
I - Indiana
J - John
L - Lime
M - Maria : D
Anything works though, it's just a first letter reference.
