what the radio for the sniper kit is and how do I use it? im new btw

Protip: Don't use the sniper kit if you are new to the game. This is not vanilla BF2 where all you should do is lie on a mountain top and try to play a super stealth ninja. You will fail and cost your team 2 tickets.

The radio is used to mark enemy contacts and also make team-wide requests usually via the map. Here's a video demonstrating its use



Lugi, you better watch yourself.

In the current version of course you have to check the distance with the GLTD (the Squadleader Binos) or in the Squadmenu at the bottom of the map.
There are no markers beyond 100m anymore, only at the compass, without distance.

In all seriousness, if your new you shouldn't be focused on the sniper kit. start with the basics like rifleman in a squad then move onto more complicated weapons like SAW/gren/LAT/HAT etc.

using a sniper kit in the wrong way can cause alot of rage towards you on some servers.

This is true. In games like vanilla BF2, sniping consists essentially of lying down somewhere and taking potshots at faraway dudes in an attempt to rack up those sweet sweet kills. This is not how it works IRL, and it is not how it works in PR. If you do eventually decide to start using the sniper hit, be prepared to do a lot more observing, and a lot less headshot-ing. Really, you should only be gunning for high-value targets like officers or HAT gunners most of the time.

Don't worry man! Most people here are try to be helpful. The manual is a little-shared secret hidden deep within the PR community. Be careful to whom you share the secret code "RTFM", for they will have access to a wealth of information uknown to the general public.








I'm kidding btw. But let me echo what TheComedian said - as you are new to the game, go rifleman first, so you learn the nuts & bolts of the game before taking a more specialized role.

Even snipers. I meet a swedish sniper today, yelled abit at him, then he turned out to be a good guy.
