Problem with option menu and the sound

Hey folks,

after a long break I'm back :)

Just installed my BF2, patched to 1.41 and then 1.50 then installed the PR 0.95 full version, which I got from a friend and downloaded the upgrade to 0.96.

So far so good...

I logged in and there we go, the first problem. In the options menu I can't make my settings, because the values are displayed in the right place. Instead they are in the upper left corner and I can only see the last one or two values. That's the case in the menu where you can change your mouse sensitivity and in the audio menu.

Apart from that the Ingame sound is bugged... I've got an XFI Xtreme Music with the newest PAX custom driver. It works fine in all games and applications that I've got, but BF2. The problem is that the ingame sound isnt always fluently on both headphone speakers. It changes the channels pretty often which is damn annoying... Hard to explain but its like that the game mutes e.g. the left speaker and I can only hear sound from the right and in the next split second it mutes the right speaker and I can only hear left.

Afaik I never had those problems in the earlier releases when I played actively. And I've always used the PAX drivers.

PS: Comp specs:

i5-2500k @4Ghz
4 Gigz RAM DDR3 1066
260GTX

Thanks for any help :)

The menu issues are known and is fixed for the next client version.

As for the sound issues, this is not a bug, it is a problem with your system, not with PR. Perhaps your headphones are dying?

Is there any way for me to change my settings then?

As for the headphones, they are from AKG so it's quality stuff. As I said they work fine under all other circumstances than playing PR. In BF2 vanilla the issue also isn't there.

Change your settings in vBF2, save, then load PR. Should be good.
(to get around the menu issues, not the sound issue ofc)

Okay thanks mate.

The sound issue is still present but it seems that it got a lot less... At least the game is playable now :D

Does it make a difference if you change the audio thing from XFI to hardware to software or vice versa or........?

Ye it actually does, but I can't play without XFI sound ;D I'm used to it for years, so I guess I'll accept those small issues
