Here's the deal;

I'm using Word 2003 and am working on some document. When I save the document, Word says some things are not compatible with Word 97.

Errrr, who cares? I certainly don't, so want to get rid of messages about incompatibility with Word 97, 'cause Word keeps popping up that message every time I save. There's no "ignore" checkbox or anything and can't find it in the settings.

I don't use word anymore (OOo ftw) but from what I remember is that you can select, in the save-as dialog, the file type (extension) from a drop down list. I think it will show .doc multiple times with in brakets for which word versions they are optimized. Select the one for your version.


Edit: Else sometimes shift and left-click on a dialog button makes it remember that choice.

I _am_ saving it as a Word 2003 .doc document, but it just gives this annoying "notify message" whenever I save it. Oh well, guess we just have to live with it... Weird Word.

How about this:

Some setting in Tools>Options>Compatibility.

GO to microsoft download website and find the compatibility pack for Word 2003.
It'll permanently fix your problem.

Too bad I can't download it, as it's an office pc and can't download/install anything . I hope they're updating the software soon then.......

How about installing it from a flash drive?

Not allowed to write to the C-drive, where Office is installed, except temp-dirs .

You need to get Ophcrack to get you the Admin password so you can do what you want when you want!

Meh, it's not _that_ big of a deal. It's only one Word-document that gives me the message every time I save. I just hoped I could get rid of it by selecting or deselecting some checkboxes here and there.

word 97 is very old version try to found compatibility with 2007 or 2010 versions.

Your answer doesn't make sense, did you read what you quoted?
