Hello !

I just have a quick question.
I play on the normal server in PR, and i've heard of a thing called "Tactical Server". Does anyone know what this? I can imagine that it's for the more serious players. How to i get to these servers?

Best requards Alexander "Dancon1".

What? There's no such thing as "Tactical Server", maybe someone told you about Tactical Gamer? If so, that's just a server focusing or teamwork or something, I don't know, I've never played that, but some of the community members are saying that's very good teamwork-oriented server. So yes, it's kinda for serious players. You join it like any other server, through server browser.

You're probably thinking of the Tactical Gamer (TG) server. If you're looking for mature, team-oriented people that's a pretty good place, I play on there a lot. You could also try the PRTA server, or NwA, they're usually pretty good too.

Just make sure you're on mumble if you play on these servers though :P

Sounds to me like some people you overheard were describing a server, praising it for its player base using tactics and teamwork. Or, like mentioned above, they could have been talking about Tactical Gamer

What do you mean by 'the normal server?' There are tons of servers; tactical and non-tactical.

Yes and no

All servers run the same mod and modes, its just some have better communities than others. not going to list the bad ones (you will find them out soon enough) but here are some of the good ones

PRTA
Tactical Gamer
=Merk= UK Reality
*NwA*

There are others but, they are my favorites

Yea those are the same ones I play, but i don't know how you can't see all the servers on the menu :/. The 'tactical servers are listed at the same place as the 'normal' servers.

Because they aren't different, they're literally exactly the same bar the clans/players running them, and the quality of the players.

'Tactical' is a state of mind, not a server option. Its down to the players to ensure they have a good experience, and the servers Smiddey listed are pretty much the only ones that can guarantee you a decent round.

No no. We're now talking about only ONE server, run by a community calling themselves Tactical Gamer. They have a website, and also play an assortment of other games.

Tactical Gamer - The PREMIERE community for mature gamers

Now, all the servers you see when you select 'Deployment' are the same. They run pretty much the same gamemodes and maps, with some exceptions.
Like dtacs mentions, the difference is in how the players on the servers play the game.
Some do it with a lot of communication and teamwork, and some with less.
I find that earlier in the day (Europe), people usually play more relaxed than the relatively serious play style of 'prime-time', evening play - depending on the server.
It's not any more complicated than that. Find a server that you like.

About the server you're interested in, Tactical Gamer, it is usually only populated in the late evenings (since it's an american server and timezones differ). That's why you might not see it at first.
