Hello, I'm new and just installed PR. I have a quick question. When I walk/sprint and hold down W I only get a few steps before I completely stop and have to press W again. This happens a lot and of course when I stop in the open I am just a nice stationary target for someone. Playing BF2 is fine, just in PR this happens.

Being new, I was wondering is this a bug, by design, or problem on my end somehow?

Hm. Certainly not by design, and not a bug I've ever heared of. I have no idea what could cause that, especially since it doesn't happen in vBF2 :/

Anyway, welcome to the forums, hopefully someone has an idea what the reason for that could be.

never seen this either, perhaps try resetting your controls?

I have seen this glitch happen maybe 4 times in my 3 years of PR, I don't know why it'd be extremely common for you but no one else...

Usually switching weapons will fix it. (Switch to knife / back to rifle.)

I've seen this problem a few times as well. I can't remember how I fixed it but you should probably try reinstalling PR.

For me my sprinting is hindered on my G13 Gamepad while using the analog stick (which I use for VOIP).

I usually fix it by going prone a few times right before it completely stops you.

do you use shift as well as double tapping w? i used to find using the w kinda glitchy, never had a problem with shift

What other controllers have you got plugged in to your PC?

Sounds very much to me like a controller conflict.. Have you got trackIR even, or anything else that could interrupt the keyboard?

What mouse and mouse software are you using? Same applies for the keyboard. And have you tried cleaning the connections involved?

Thanks for the all the suggestions. I ended up completely uninstalling and reinstalling both BF2 and PR and that seemed to do the trick. Works just fine now, thanks again.

Typically now my keyboard seems to be broken and the Left Ctrl button doesn't work. I blame you Zeta.. whatever you had has obviously hopped onto me when we were talking.
