Help with reading the mortars barrel elevation

Hey all, I have been getting into mortars lately and wanted to ask about the barrel elevation and how to read it. I know that after you get your range from the calculator you then transfer that measurement over to the barrel elevation but I am stuck as to how to read the elevation to accurately plot the range into it. Any help is greatly appreciated, possibly a short tutorial for this is not covered in the official mortar tutorial. Thanks.

Well the biggest lines are obviously 1000 markers
then comes 50 25 and 5, forget about the degrees marked on the right side of the barrel elevation.
adjust barrel elevation with W and A
800/1500 is your longest and 1574/80 shortest possible angle/distance.

I dont know if you mean this, but I had same confusion at the beginning, but then got the hang of it. Each little space is 5 units. Just use logic from there
